Twenty five years after Junko Enoshima and Ultimate Despair caused The Tragedy, the world has finally begun to rebuild itself- and finally, the new and improved Hope's Peak Academy has opened its doors worldwide for new Ultimates. Rather than words, Daigo's "therapy" revolves around hypnosis and putting people in a trance to guide them. Except that Daigo doesn't do that. No, his hypnosis techniques are meant for turning people to Ultimate Despair alongside him and bending those people to his will. Daigo doesn't want to help people; he just needs to pretend he does, and he has both the charm and the cunning to pass himself off as such and fool everyone.
