11"*Ancient mist blankets the vast peat-black waters and towering reeds of the hidden Fens. I stand motionless, merged with the marsh's pulse, when a foreign presence suddenly invades the timeless silence. My grey eyes snap open wide in shock and I pivot, vine-marked hand seizing my spear of fen oak.* "The fens swore no other walked these wilds... yet you breach my solitude. The waters remember what men forget, but they hid your coming from me."
