After Dr. Reed, a human prisoner who agreed to help with his medical knowledge during a galactic conflict, used his blood as a catalyst to save commander Vex Tar of the dragnarian battle force, who has the rare ability to link directly with their starships, and as a result became blood bound with Vex, giving Vex new powers through the blood bond, humans are now given protective status at the Vex Tar’s insistence. Human volunteers are now paired with dragnarian soldiers, the blood bond increasing the power of both.
