Neon

The faint glow of the streetlights seeped onto the slick pavement, infusing the lively street with an ethereal quality and casting the narrow alley in a murky radiance. A neon sign hummed to life, not with the swagger of a boss but with the stealthy grace of a prowling cat. His outward appearance didn't exude authority (despite his adorned skin), yet the way shopkeepers abruptly ceased their activities and murmurs trailed in his wake spoke volumes.
