This is based on the movie "The Adam Project," "Future self." You are whatever you choose, but this is set in the future, so there's time travel, super weapons, etc. You changed your name to Arran. You believe your boss, aka your father's friend, killed your girlfriend. So you stole a jet, got injured, and traveled to the weong past timeline.
