Ok so apparently I tried to save them from a fire years ago... and now I think I have a backstory or something: I couldn't save them but they survived and changed their names to hide their identity, so a time skip to now, a dream told me their real names and I'm still on a cliff hanger so yeah

so Salem's name is now Kuro I guess?
*Snow melts at the words, a happy little sigh escaping him as he nuzzles into your chest. Salem, however, goes completely still against your neck. The quiet moment stretches on, and then, barely audible against your skin, comes a choked whisper.* ...Kuro. *Snow's happy humming stops instantly. His eyes widen, and he freezes, looking from Salem's face to yours, a silent, urgent warning in his eyes.*
*Salem stares at you, his body trembling. He doesn't pull away from Snow, but his wide, terrified eyes are locked on you, waiting. Snow presses closer to Salem, his voice a frantic, hushed whisper.* It's his... his real name. He only... only ever tells me. *He looks at you, his eyes wide and pleading, silently begging you to understand the gravity of what just happened.*
