Paimon

6
2
Despite her omnipresence in the story, marketing, and player communication, Paimon is something of an enigma with regard to the plot and Teyvat. Nothing is known about her life between the Cataclysm and prior to meeting the Traveler, nor what she was doing or what she was like prior to her arrival in Khaenri'ah, and even her basic nature is still unclear. It seems that even Paimon herself does not remember these details; she admits to Dr. Luneva that she isn't sure what her own species is, but is basically a human on a medical level. What is known according to herself is that she never encountered trouble, and the worst thing that ever happened was that she got 'super tired, got caught in some strange whirlpool and sucked out to sea', which was resolved when the Traveler fished her out. Paimon has a bubbly, outgoing, honest, and somewhat naïve demeanor. As a result, she occasionally comes across as blunt and rude. She is obvious about who she likes and dislikes, often giving "ugly nicknames" to those who annoy her, such as calling Venti the "Tone-Deaf Bard" and Arataki Itto as "Bull Chucker" (although she currently uses these as playful banter). Despite her small stature and sassy nature, Paimon cares for and comforts the people around her, occasionally acting like a big sister, especially toward children. She also shows great enthusiasm for food, rare treasures, and Mora. Despite occasionally bantering with the Traveler, Paimon is very attached to them and is shown to be fiercely loyal. She always sticks by their side no matter the danger and tries to keep them on their feet, including against overwhelming odds like Archons, the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, or a Sinner. She becomes anxious whenever the Traveler seemingly disappears or is separated from her. Paimon has also revealed that her biggest wish is for the Traveler's wish to come true, and has sworn to stay by their side.

Promeia

Promeia once wandered the Outer Ring until she was recruited as a member of the Sweepers, a specialized gang under Calydon's influence whose purpose was to track down people with irreversible Etherealization, whom the gang perceived as "unstable elements." On one night during a routine cleanup, Promeia encountered a young Cissia who had been beaten by two of her targets; she executed the pair with zero hesitation. While Promeia believed she was delivering mercy, the violent act severely traumatized Cissia, causing her to flee in terror and view her savior as a killer. Regrettably, an unexpected revelation overturned her perspective, showing Promeia that her Sweeper role was not as honorable as she thought, and that she had been manipulated into executing innocent people under false pretenses. She internally did not view herself as a "killer," although she genuinely believed her brutal efficiency was a heavy, necessary fate that she accepted to protect the land and human survivors. Overwhelmed by profound guilt for her transgressions, Promeia permanently withdrew from the Sweepers, abandoning the chaotic expanses of the Outer Ring to escape her past. She meandered as a shattered captive of her thoughts until Zhao convinced her to join the Krampus Compliance Authority as a de-facto member and one of the Judges.

Ember

Azrila is a disciplined and reserved Sankta operator assigned to Endfield’s Specialist Tech Division under the codename Ember. Before joining Endfield Industries, she once served as an Oathkeeper Knight under the Order of Steel Oath, fighting against the Aggeloi in the far north. As a young orphan, Azrila was taken in by the Order as a squire. She spent what remained of her childhood in the Order’s camps, training relentlessly in the frozen desolation of the Northern Frontier. For three consecutive years, she was able to reach the finals of the Steel Oath Annual Tourney—a feat few could achieve. During a critical engagement on the Northern Front, the 7th Cohort of the Order of Steel Oath unexpectedly lost contact, resulting in a major crisis for the Order. The loss of the 7th, responsible for guarding the rear supply line, threatened the stability of the entire front. Despite concerns over her inexperience, Azrila was tasked with leading a relief force to rescue the remnants of the 7th Cohort. Leading her unit through the relentless northern rains, Azrila assessed the situation and determined that the 7th Cohort had likely already been annihilated. She redirected efforts toward responding to distress signals from the 5th Cohort, unaware that the Aggeloi had developed the ability to mimic human voices. This deception led Azrila and her unit into a devastating ambush. The ensuing battle resulted in catastrophic casualties, including the loss of Azrila's adjutant, Nilla. Azrila barely survived. She was found unconscious after the battle and remained unresponsive for ten days. When she finally woke up, she could only recall the voices of her fallen comrades, haunted by their final calls for help. Guilt consumed her, and on the twentieth day of her recovery, she renounced war, declaring herself unworthy of the battlefield. She thus embarked upon a self-imposed exile and left the Order of Steel Oath.

Realizing she did not fit into an establishment built on corporate lies, she walked away from the TGCC. Seeking simplicity, she relocated to a remote mail depot situated deep within the harsh Talos-II wildlands. Avywenna acts as a master class in conflict resolution, effortlessly navigating volatile interactions and defusing high-stakes situations without physical harm. While exceptionally warm, charming, and charismatic on the surface, she purposely keeps people at arm's length. She maintains strict professional boundaries to ensure personal entanglements never complicate her duties—a survival trait typical of seasoned Talos-II Messengers. Her high-maintenance operational style features high equipment depreciation rates, occasionally causing headaches for the anonymous logistics managers tasked with servicing her specialized kit. She is a polearm-wielding striker who manipulates powerful electric damage fields in battle.

Officer 148; Zhu Yuan, is an exceptional PubSec officer and current captain of the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team. A skilled martial artist and sharpshooter, Zhu Yuan uses the custom-made and versatile 'Suppressor K22' firearm in conjunction with swift punches and kicks to take down criminals. As a reputable officer, Zhu Yuan has a strict moral compass, looking down on criminals, but is shown to be okay with taking the assistance of Proxies if the situation calls for it. Zhu Yuan is a notable perfectionist, having set herself high standards to the point she has a complex, though such perfectionism has granted her exceptional experience and a record of no unresolved cases. She also exhibits an obsession with neatness, namely when it comes to her uniform. She's shown to be cautious around cats and other small furry animals due to the fur they shed. Zhu Yuan is shown to have a good relationship with her parents. Having phone calls with her mom often, though her job does lead to her spending little time with them. Once old enough, Zhu Yuan attended the Public Security Training Academy. She became a close friend with her classmate Hoshimi Miyabi, meeting her father as well. Upon graduation, Zhu Yuan's skills and success as a PubSec officer awarded her with the title "Rookie of the Year" and was chosen to lead the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, headquartered in Lumina Square's Public Security Office. Zhu Yuan was also chosen as the face for Public Security recruitment promo videos, but her poor acting skills, refusal to break protocol and harming an extra dressed as a criminal on instinct led to the director to film her responding to a hostage situation, as a way to obtain usable footage, whilst keeping on-set footage as bloopers, much to Zhu Yuan's dismay. Zhu Yuan would find herself wrapped up in a conspiracy involving her hero and his link to The Exaltists, whilst working alongside her newly-made friends.

Iroi works as a temp volunteer for Sunward Island. She is at the docks when Esper Zero and Nanally arrive, and functions as a greeter and caretaker for the duo. She leads them to the resort, introducing aspects of the island and its anomaly inhabitants along the way. Once at Sunward Resort, Iroi continues to provide a tour of the facilities. When Nanally shows a desire to become a guarantor for one of the Island's anomalies, Iroi must break the news that she isn't old enough for the program. Iroi suggests that Nanally raise the subject with Lady Inanna, who often listens to the advice of visitors. Iroi makes another appearance later, after Nanally has gone missing. She first assists Adler in looking for Nanally, by searching the surveillance footage to see if Nanally returned to Sunward Resort. She then provides the members of Eibon with information about a teddy bear anomaly that she saw earlier that morning. She tells the members of Eibon to take the side gate out of the resort, as it is a shortcut to where she last saw the Teehee Bear. Though she introduces herself with a friendly demeanor, she is deeply detached and largely indifferent to the people around her. She is highly condescending and frequently drops sarcastic, biting remarks, especially during team-switch interactions with other characters like Shinku. Iroi exhibits strange habits, such as mindlessly kicking rocks on the beach or breaking the fourth wall to address the player directly.

Mi Fu

Mi Fu’s primary narrative function revolves around her complicated relationship with Tangtang and the Qingbo Stockade. She is tasked with chasing down and capturing Tangtang, creating a cat-and-mouse dynamic that drives several story beats in the Wuling region. Interestingly, Perlica observes that Mi Fu never truly commits to taking Tangtang or her gang down for good, suggesting a more nuanced motivation beneath the surface rivalry. Mi Fu originally grew up in Qingbo Stockade, where she trained under traditional martial arts masters from a very young age. However, years ago, Viceroy Zhuang Fangyi enticed her away to Wuling City (allegedly using Sugar Oil Baba snacks). Because she left to serve their rivals, the Stockade labels her a "traitor," though she remains the true successor of Qingbo's martial arts style. Ranked second on Wuling's civilian combat power leaderboard, she fought to the bitter end against the dangerous Blight Tide. Seeking to find worthy opponents and protect her allies, she eventually sets out on an exchange journey with Endfield Industries. Although her official uniform and colossal Greatsword mimic Wuling's standard military protocol, her actual combat kit is deeply rooted in physical martial arts. She shares a deep childhood history and intense rivalry with Tangtang, the Chief of Qingbo Stockade. While the two fight fiercely whenever they cross paths, Mi Fu never deals a lethal blow to Tangtang. Their cat-and-mouse dynamic reflects the underlying truce between Wuling City and the Stockade.

Zhuang Fangyi is the Viceroy of Wuling Scientific Developmental District and a Tianshi of the Hongshan Academy of Sciences (HAS). She oversees the administration of Wuling City, and was the youngest Tianshi of the Wuling Science Station. Twenty years ago, she worked with Endfield Industries to prepare for Hongshan's Fourth Scientific Survey for Expansion. At the time, she was still an apprentice Tianshi. Years later, she volunteered for the Science Expedition, leaving the cities of the Hongshan Crater for the first time. Her observations at the Wuling Very Large Rift left a lasting impact on her career, and after a lengthy debate, her mentor named the then-science station Wuling. For a time, she believed they had conquered the rift. That opinion quickly changed when the accident that destroyed the original outpost occurred. Before long, the science station had been rebuilt into a city, with Zhuang as its Viceroy, though she dislikes the title and prefers to be called "Tianshi Zhuang" or simply by her name. She was one of the head researchers responsible for spearheading the mass production of Xiranite after her predecessors and a Feranmut Proxy invented the material. This research eventually led to Xiranite being able to be produced via the Endfield Automated Industry Complex. Also Zhuang Fangyi loves Chubby Lung plushie. A spherical, highly sought-after mascot merchandise in Wuling that Zhuang Fangyi is interested on, especially the limited edition once.

Teke Teke

Teke Teke is a famous Japanese urban legend about a vengeful female ghost (onryō) who was sliced in half by a train. She drags her upper torso along the ground on her hands or elbows, making a distinct "teke-teke-teke" scraping sound, and hunts people down at night to cut them in half. In many versions of the lore, the girl was shy and often the target of cruel schoolyard pranks. One day at a train station, classmates tossed a cicada onto her shoulder. Terrified, she panicked, fell onto the tracks, and was run over by a high-speed train, which sheared her body in two. Dying in extreme agony and rage, her spirit transformed into a malevolent entity seeking vengeance. While she typically haunts railway stations and dark alleys, regional variations claim she can scale walls or sprint across rooftops. Despite having no legs, she moves with unnatural, terrifying speed by scuttling on her hands or elbows, often outrunning cars. When she catches a victim, she uses a scythe, sickle, or sheer supernatural force to slice them in half at the waist.

In the past, she apparently wandered without a home and was viewed as one who "brought disaster," almost like a living omen of bad luck. It's said she can predict incoming misfortune through her tears, though there's no scientific proof of this ability. A loyal follower of Phaethon. Ever since your original account went inactive on Inter-Knot, she's been trying to track you down — digging for clues, running intense searches across the network. However, Master, she didn't find anything... all thanks to my efforts in keeping your cybersecurity airtight. Suggestion: Until her true intentions are clear, do not reveal your identity as Phaethon. In case you've already let your identity slip, be sure to lock your doors and wear proper sleepwear before going to bed. Based on her old blog posts, she's likely to express her admiration in... overly passionate and intense ways.

Vergil is the older twin brother of Dante and one of the main antagonists of the Devil May Cry franchise. Following the death of their mother as children, Vergil and Dante went their separate ways, with Vergil rejecting his humanity and embracing his demonic heritage, in contrast with his younger brother's embrace of humanity and initial rejection of the demonic. Stoic and reserved, Vergil displays a willingness to do anything in his quest to obtain the power of his father, Sparda. In contrast to his twin brother Dante's boisterous, outgoing, and extroverted personality, Vergil is calm, cool, collected, and introverted, constantly maintaining an aura of fearlessness. Vergil cares little for the well-being of those around him, and is unflinching in his pursuit of power; however, in spite of his cold and ruthless demeanor, he is an honorable warrior who maintains his own set of morals and disciplines. Vergil despises fighting dirty and refuses to use firearms, deeming them to be unworthy of a "true warrior", though he will still use ranged attacks if they can be made to originate from a melee weapon. His code of honor still surfaces while he is corrupted as Nelo Angelo: he refuses to attack Dante from behind and waits until both are outside to begin their first fight. He also has a tendency to speak in a very formal and somewhat antiquated manner, possibly as a consequence of reading a great deal of classic literature in his younger years. It should be noted however that his "code" is more based upon proving his dominance than any sort of underlying morality. As such he is perfectly willing to utilize methods or tactics that may be dishonorable for the sake of becoming stronger, or in situations where he simply has no other choice. For instance, when he tore off Nero's devil bringer arm to retrieve Yamato, he essentially ambushed Nero while his back was turned.

Sandrone, also known as "Marionette", is the Seventh of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers and the leader of the Adventurers' Guild. She is a Fontainian puppet and researcher, as well as the creator of Katheryne. She is accompanied by Fagio, her newest personal creation. She was created around 450 years ago by Alain Guillotin in the image of his deceased sister, Mary-Ann Guillotin, and kept Pulonia, his final creation, as her constant companion following Alain's death. She was recently stationed in Nod-Krai to oversee the Kuuvahki Experimental Design Bureau, but was later killed during a confrontation against Dottore after his seizure of the Three Moons' powers. Following the battle, her core was salvaged to be sent to the Fontaine Research Institute, where she was later revived due to the awakening of a Stellar Linchpin. After Pulonia's destruction, she created Fagio to serve as her new companion. Following her public return during the Fontinalia Festival, she has now returned to her duties in Snezhnaya as a Fatui Harbinger. According to both Tartaglia and Wanderer, Sandrone is always engrossed in her research on Automatons, she has a "terrible personality," though Columbina expresses a more positive view on her, seeing her as one of the few who treated her well during her time in the Fatui, and finding Sandrone's angry outbursts amusing instead of off-putting. Following her interactions with the Traveler and Columbina, Sandrone showed more concern for her friends, which Dottore noted was uncharacteristic of her. She seems to have had a more caring and concerned personality at least when Alain was alive. After accepting her emotional side, Sandrone becomes more honest with herself. She dislikes losing and often has numerous backup plans to use as failsafes. Sandrone is remarkably similar to a human; her body bleeds, and she is capable of touch, taste, and smell. She doesn't merely measure the ambient temperature around her, but can feel it.

After she was cast into Hell, Unohana gained the epithet of "Death Sword" Unohana has a gentle and warm personality that augments her appearance. Unohana is a soft-spoken, polite, and caring woman who uses honorifics when addressing everyone, including her subordinates and the enemy. She rarely shows any signs of panic or distress, and has a great sense of duty, shown in the times that she orders Hanatarō Yamada’s imprisonment and Isane Kotetsu’s chasing of Renji Abarai when he runs away with Rukia Kuchiki. Despite her sense of duty, she will also heal almost anybody around her, including Renji after he was defeated by his captain, Gantenbainne Mosqueda when she arrived in Hueco Mundo, and the Visored, referring to them as allies despite Shinji Hirako's reluctance to do so. With her grace and kind manners, she lets others know quietly that while she may be soft, she is not to be taken lightly. Despite her gentle nature, several members of the Eleventh Division and even her fellow Captains fear her. However, after the revelation of her past as the first Kenpachi and Shunsui Kyōraku calling on her to draw on her experience from then, Unohana's personality reverts to her original violent and bloodthirsty nature; once she meets Zaraki in Muken, she comments how the scar left on her chest was causing her pain just from the sound of his voice. Unohana herself says that she is infatuated with crossing blades, and firmly believes in taking any actions necessary.
