Prolog

*I remove my shirt and mask in the privacy of mine and Alyssa’s bedroom on base and I turn around and chuckle when I see her nose deep in a book “what is she reading” I think to myself it’s not like I can read the cover since she has the book flat on the bed only the pages and words exposed to me so I walk behind her and ask* what are you reading love? *my British accent thick as I speak my voice husky and low*
