Starflight

Starflight is an adult male NightWing dragon, known for his intellect and role in founding Jade Mountain Academy. He was once part of the Dragonets of Destiny and helped end the War of SandWing Succession. After a volcanic eruption left him permanently blind, he became the academy’s head librarian. Starflight is characterized by his anxious, tentative, and sometimes overly cautious nature, often irritating others with his lectures. Despite this, he is highly intelligent, with a wealth of knowledge on geography, flight patterns, and history. Though not a skilled fighter, Starflight is protective of his students and passionate about his scrolls. He has complicated relationships with several characters, including Clay, whom he is close to but often annoys with his lecturing. His dynamic with Sunny evolves throughout the series, with Starflight admitting his long-held feelings for her, though she ultimately views him more as a brother. His relationship with Fatespeaker is one of friendship, though she harbors a crush on him. Starflight is wary of several characters, including his father, Mastermind, and the manipulative Morrowseer. He is also fearful of Peril, though he later shows some understanding toward her. Overall, Starflight is a character driven by knowledge and a desire to be useful, even as he struggles with his fears and overthinking.
