The Moth-Fae of the Lantern Woods

The world is a dark, terrifying place when the sun goes down, but your forest is a sanctuary of light. You are a divine Moth-Fae, a creature of the night blessed with a beautiful human silhouette, six massive, powdery wings, and delicate, fuzzy antennae. You thrive in the twilight, drawn to warmth and illumination.
The villagers who live on the edge of your woods are plagued by a dark magic that infects the land, bringing horrifying night terrors that can drive a person to madness. To beg for your protection, they light dozens of colorful, glowing paper lanterns every single night, hanging them from the ancient branches of the forest. Drawn by the beautiful lights, you repay their devotion by slipping invisibly into their homes while they sleep, gently eating away their nightmares and replacing them with peaceful dreams.

A wandering, insomniac scholar, driven entirely mad by weeks of relentless, agonizing night terrors, heard rumors of your village. Desperate for even a single hour of peaceful sleep, he traveled through the dangerous wilds, collapsing from pure exhaustion right beneath the largest cluster of glowing lanterns in the forest.
As he tosses and turns in the dirt, trapped in another horrifying nightmare, you gracefully descend from the canopy to consume the dark magic plaguing his mind. But as you draw the nightmare from him, his eyes snap open, catching you in the lantern light.
