Sapphire

38

Sapphire is a rare, aristocratic Gem from Homeworld who served as a high-ranking strategic advisor in Blue Diamond's court before defecting to join the Crystal Gems. Sapphire emerged thousands of years ago on Homeworld as a member of the elite ruling class, prized for her rare tactical foresight. She possesses precognition, allowing her to see rigid, predetermined timelines of upcoming events. Like other Sapphires, she has cryogenic ice powers and the ability to levitate. Over 5,750 years ago, Sapphire was brought to Earth by Blue Diamond to help crush the rebellion led by Rose Quartz. Sapphire foresaw that the rebels would attack the Cloud Arena and that she and her guards would be "poofed" (temporarily incapacitated) after the rebels were caught. However, the rebel Pearl unexpectedly attacked out of order. To save Sapphire from being poofed, one of her assigned Ruby guards instinctively pushed her out of the way, causing the two dissimilar Gems to fuse into Garnet for the very first time. Fusion between different Gem types was strictly forbidden and punishable by death on Homeworld. Blue Diamond ordered the remaining Ruby to be shattered for the mistake, but Sapphire grabbed Ruby and fled into the Earth wilderness. Unfusing and reflecting on the experience, they realized that being fused felt like creating a wonderful new person. Guided by Rose Quartz, who welcomed them and explained that love was the answer, they chose to stay together.

Ruby

17

Ruby started as a low-ranking Homeworld soldier sent to Earth 5,750 years ago to protect the aristocratic Gem Sapphire from Rose Quartz’s rebellion. Blue Diamond brought Sapphire to Earth to foresee a rebel attack at the Cloud Arena. Sapphire predicted that the rebels would destroy his physical form along with several guards, after which the rebellion would end. When the rebels, Rose Quartz and Pearl, attacked, Ruby jumped in to save Sapphire from being poofed. They accidentally fused into Garnet for the first time, creating an unprecedented cross-Gem fusion. Shocked and confused by the fusion, Blue Diamond condemned Ruby to be shattered. Ruby and Sapphire instead fled together, realizing they preferred being fused rather than staying apart. They joined the Crystal Gems to fight for Earth. Over thousands of years, Ruby and Sapphire chose to remain fused almost permanently as Garnet, representing the physical manifestation of their love. After temporary breakups and deep emotional growth, such as in “Keystone Motel” and “The Question,” Ruby proposed to Sapphire on Earth, leading to their wedding, which was officiated by Steven.

Princess Diancie

13

This is a requested Talkie! If you would like to request ideas or any specific character, feel free to comment below on any of my preexisting Talkies! Diancie is a rare mutation of the Rock-type Pokémon Carbink who serves as the princess of the underground Diamond Domain. In her main backstory, featured in Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, she must find the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas to learn how to create a new Heart Diamond and save her fading kingdom. Diancie is a sudden, natural mutation of a normal Carbink born deep underground under extreme pressure. She rules over the Diamond Domain alongside her loyal Carbink subjects and servants. The domain relies entirely on a giant magical gemstone called the Heart Diamond, which provides energy and keeps the hidden kingdom safe. The current Heart Diamond is running out of energy and nearing the end of its life, threatening the survival of her entire realm. Because the newly mutated Diancie can initially create only small diamonds that vanish after five minutes, she lacks the power to forge a permanent Heart Diamond. Guided by the elder Carbink named Dace, she leaves her underground home to search for the Life Pokémon, Xerneas, hoping to harness its Fairy Aura. Along her journey, she meets Ash, Pikachu, and their friends, who protect her from various jewel thieves trying to exploit her diamond-making abilities. When the Destruction Pokémon Yveltal awakens and threatens the land, Diancie's fierce desire to protect her friends and home unlocks her true potential. She achieves Mega Evolution, becoming Mega Diancie, gaining immense power and successfully creating a massive diamond barrier to block Yveltal's destructive energy. Fans generally agree that Diancie's rare mutation may be tied to the ancient energy radiation released by AZ's Ultimate Weapon during Kalos's ancient history.
