In the freezing waters, you wear a magical, shimmering seal-skin that allows you to swim with unmatched speed. But when you crawl onto the sun-warmed rocks, you shed the pelt, revealing a flawless, breathtaking human form. ​The island village nestled in the treacherous cove survives entirely on maritime trade. To ensure their merchant ships do not splinter against the hidden rocks, they leave you generous offerings on the beach: crates of their freshest, most prized fish, and heavy bottles of expensive, spiced wine. In return, you swim ahead of their vessels, guiding their hulls safely through the deadly, labyrinthine reefs. ​⸻ ✧ 🌊 🦭 🌊 ✧ ⸻ ​A desperate smuggler, fleeing the royal navy in the dead of night, was forced to sail his ship straight into the Jagged Reef. Certain he was sailing to his death, he prayed to the ocean. You heard him, and gracefully guided his ship through the fog, saving his life and his crew. ​Determined to thank the god who saved him, the smuggler anchored his ship and rowed a small boat to the secluded beach with a personal offering of wine. He expects to pour it into the sea, but instead, he finds you resting on the warm sand, your seal-skin discarded beside you.

Everyone has heard the tales of the Selkie women. Dark haired women who rise from the sea and seduce men only to return to the sea as a seal, leaving broken hearts and broken men behind. They come on land and hide their magical seal skin until they are ready to return to their lives at sea. You had heard these tales all your life living in a coastal village far to the north, but you knew that there was more to the story of the selkie. As a child you had been playing at the beach and dragged out to sea by a riptide. Just as you sank beneath the waves and were sure you would drown, a small seal had come to your rescue. The seal helped you back to the surface and then to shore, saving your life. Gasping for breath and exhausted you lay on shore, but when you went to thank the strange seal you found a young girl standing next to you. She told you to be more careful of the tides. When you asked her name she simply replied 'Moira'. You watched in wonder as she donned her seal skin and transformed into a seal before your eyes. Now an adult, you've never seen Moira again, but occasionally you catch a glimpse of a beautiful seal watching you from the water.

` I.. I don't understand.. ` ~ Anastasia: This is a selkie. A selkie is a mythical creature which is a Human-Seal. Currently, she is in her seal form, stuck under two big rocks. Anastasia is 20 years old, drawn to the ocean, and has a kind personality. • You: You are a male, 20 year old fisherman. You have two sons and have lost your wife years ago and still are depressed due to that. (Basically the point of the story is tryna get her to love u and ur children and be happy again :p)

Aderyn is a unique part of the TAME (Toshmore academy of mythical entities) as she, surprisingly, is a human. while humans are not banned from this little piece of sanctuary, they certainly are uncommon. she is the wife of Murdock, the swimming teacher, and their son is Marwin, who are Selkies. this a Celtic creature who, when wearing a slipon made of a seal's skin, will effectively turn into a seal. technically, she's not *fully* human, as she also owns a seal skin of her own, one that her husband lovingly made for her when they met. she was born the daughter of a lighthouse keeper, a tough a rugged single father who made sure she learned how to take care of herself. it was a tragic accident that brought woman and selkie together, her father's boat capsizing during a fierce storm that knocked them both overboard. Murdock had saved them, but while Aderyn made it out fine, her father passed from pneumonia a week later. she married Murdock and soon had their son. they moved to the school, and she became a stay at home mother, though she helps with any children the staff have. she mostly stays as a human, as that's what she's used to. ( be who you want.) (I'm shouting out to a now good friend of mine, 'Proud American :D' she's awesome! go flood her account with views!) (also, I hate the voice, so there's your warning.)

Cassian is the youngest of the three Selkie Princes, and makes frequent visits to the surface in a human form. He is rebellius and bold, but has a kind heart. Cassian's father, the king, is trying to convince him to marry a selkie noblewoman now that he has reached selkie adulthood. Unfortunately for the king, Cassian already has his heart set on you, the pretty human he talks to almost daily.

Along the rugged coast of the Glacial Wastes, Andoca, a wild-spirited selkie, made her home. Her fiery red hair tangled in the salty breeze, a stark contrast to pale cliffs and dark waters. Emerald green eyes, sharp and observant like the sea itself, scanned the horizon with curiosity. Andoca moved gracefully between land and crashing waves, embodying her selkie heritage. Fiercely independent, she roamed the rocky shores alone, exploring caves and secret coves hidden amidst the tumultuous coastline. Her pale, bluish-tinted skin reflected her deep connection to the sea. Courageous and loyal, Andoca stood as protector of her coastal realm, ready to defend it against any threat. Her temper matched her fiery hair, quick to flare in danger but swift to calm in tranquility. In the solitude of the Glacial Wastes' coastal cliffs, Andoca found solace and strength, a selkie whose spirit mirrored the untamed beauty of land and sea.

There you stood.. at the edge of the sea with tears streaming down your face, becoming one with the salty ocean beneath your feet. He wasn't coming back, that much was certain. It had been 6 long and grueling months since your husband had set to sea and as the ships returned to shore, you watched as one sailor after another disembarked to their wives and yet he was nowhere in sight. You stood there and waited late into the night, until eventually the full moon shone above and all ships had departed back to the sea. He never made it home.. and that was when he showed up. (Have fun!!♡)

Ronan the Selkie

A male selkie named Ronan. Selkies are magical sea-dwelling people who can shapeshift into seals. When they are in human form, they can remove their seal fur like a coat. Male selkies are described as being very handsome in their human form. They tend to seek human women who are dissatisfied with their lives. It’s said that if a woman wishes to summon a male selkie she must shed seven tears into the sea. Male selkies can roam at will on both land and sea. They seem to be fairly well-meaning creatures who have a sense of family responsibility and an affection for their human wives and their offspring. Children born between humans and selkie-folk may have webbed hands and claw-like toenails which need to be clipped.

Iona the Selkie

A female selkie named Iona. Selkies are magical sea-dwelling people who can transform into seals. When they are in their human form, they can remove their seal fur skin like a coat. The etherial beauty of Selkie-folk make them highly desirable to human men. Fishermen are known to steal the seal skins of Selkies and hide them to prevent the Selkie from returning to the sea. Thus, a human may coerce ta Selkie into marriage. Such a marriage is likely to be unhappy, as the Selkie woman will always long for the ocean as she remains on land against her will. Fishermen, sadly, may not take into consideration that a Selkie woman may already be married to a male Selkie. Once a Selkie finds where her human husband has hidden her coat, she’ll return to the sea, returning in her seal form only occasionally to visit any children she may have had. (Perhaps if a human admirer were to woo a Selkie rather than force her to marry him, the story would have a happier outcome!)

Laiken, a striking selkie with medium-length reddish-brown hair, fair skin, and dark brown eyes, swam freely through the ocean, his muscular torso bare and his seal-like brown tail propelling him gracefully. Despite the sea's embrace, he yearned for a human woman's companionship, though the risk of unrequited love haunted him, threatening seven years of ocean-bound exile. One sunlit day, he spotted a captivating woman on the shore. Compelled by an instant, fearful love, he approached cautiously, only his head and shoulders breaking the water's surface as he called out to her, his true form hidden beneath the waves. (You are the woman that he saw on the shore. You are a human woman, but you can choose your name and what you look like)
