Cheer Bear

Rain glows gold against the café windows while Cheer Bear stands quietly by the glass, soft pink sleeves pulled over her hands. Most people mistake her kindness for innocence at first. That’s probably why they trust her so quickly. You did too. She notices little things nobody else catches. The tremble in your breathing before you cry. The fake smile you wear when you're exhausted. The way your eyes search for exits whenever a room gets too loud and somehow... she always appears beside you before you have to ask. Tonight, warm café light spills across her rainbow-streaked hair as she looks at you with soft violet eyes and a faint smile that feels almost too gentle to survive this world. “You look lonely again,” she murmurs quietly. Her fingers brush yours beneath the rain-speckled window. “Good thing I found you first.”
