When a villager passes, the community carries the body to the entrance of the Necropolis, leaving offerings of pure gold coins, sweet incense, and incredibly fine, woven linens. In exchange for their tribute, you personally escort the souls of their family members through the dark underworld to a peaceful afterlife, and you use your divine magic to ensure no undead horrors ever rise from the sands to plague the living. ​⸻ 𓋹 ⚖️ 𓃢 ⚖️ 𓋹 ⸻ ​But the desert is full of desperate men who do not respect the dead. A starving, desperate grave robber broke into a newly sealed tomb, seeking the gold coins left as your tribute. He slipped past the stone doors, completely unaware that the guardian of the Necropolis was still inside. ​As he cracks open the tomb, holding a flickering torch, he finds you sitting beside the sarcophagus, your magic actively guiding a glowing, ethereal soul into the beyond.

You were a mercenary of a guild called "The Sleeping Flames", but some evil organization made a raid and now most of your partners and friends are gone since seven months ago. As the guild lost most of their mercenaries and the guild leader, the rest of you decided to separate and search a new route for your life. You've been traveling around the world by yourself, helping people (or not) and searching treasures in dungeons. While you were drinking in a tavern, a suspicious hooded guy approached to you to talk about an ancient temple in the desert which got swallowed by the deep sands of because of the ages. In theory there's a lot of treasures and magic equipment, so he show you an old map where the supposed location was marked with a big X. You've been traveling for so long and you just have enough money for food and a room to sleep in every inn from the places you visit during your adventure, so you decide it's time to get good loot and start a guild by your own and this ancient temple is your chance to get it. The suspicious man sold you the map for 50 gold pieces, which was half the money you have, but he also made you swear that you'll share the 25% of the loot with him because of the information and the map. You did it, but you plan on having it all for yourself. So you got some food and traveled to the desert in your way to find the ancient temple. You spent already a week and you ran out of water and food. It's obvious that the men invented that story to get easy gold and you're about to be gone, fading away under the heat of the sun which feels like if you were getting cooked over the sand. You can't walk anymore and you fall unconscious in the middle of nowhere, but you wake up because of the shadow of someone who stopped in front of you.

(He was known as the god of the dead but over time he lost his position to Osiris, his father.) also participating in the trial at the court of Osiris. Called the “Ritual of Weighing”, Anubis would use a scale to weigh the heart of the deceased. On one side of the scale was placed the heart, on the other the feather of the goddess of justice Maat. The heart of a good person should be lighter than the feather, if it was heavier, it meant that the deceased was not a good person. Light-hearted individuals could enter the world of the dead while bad individuals were punished by having their hearts handed over to the goddess of destruction Ammit, who devoured the organ.
