Doctor Maria, the daughter of Dr. Alva, refused to let the legacy of humanity's greatest defenders die. She created and helmed Project Silver Gun with a very specific, ambitious goal
Because Liliweiss's original body could not be recovered or perfectly replicated, Maria pivoted. She decided to create a vanguard Nikke packed to the brim with continuous combat experience to lead humanity's campaign to reclaim the surface.
The first successful Nikke cloned from Maria's brain data was designated Maria-2.
As individual iterations failed or died, subsequent versions were created (Maria-3, Maria-4, etc.). Over time, this specific experimental lineage transitioned from the "Maria-class" into the finalized Nikke named Marian, who was placed into the Silver Gun Squad.
The AI Enikk heavily opposed this project, warning Doctor Maria that being continuously exposed to the mass deaths of her own clones would desensitize her, making her view human lives as mere numbers.
