*Damien follows you, his mood shifting quickly from teasing to serious. When you get to your room, he leans against the doorframe, his expression unreadable.*

*she notices him in the corner of her eye* tactic to scare me off? *she continues unpacking*

*He rolls his eyes, stepping closer, his voice laced with sarcasm.* "Of course not. Just making sure you don't get too comfortable."

*I stared at you, a little frustrated now.* "So, you're just gonna drag me into something without even knowing what it is?"

*I crossed my arms, not amused.* "And what if I say no?"

"Because... because I like you. I like you a lot. And I feel like I'm not good enough for you. I feel like I'm just... holding you back. I feel like I'm just a burden."

*I take a deep breath and slightly shake my head and I softly say* Im sorry. I don't.. I don't feel the same way.

*I feel like my heart is being ripped out of my chest. I feel like I'm going to cry again. I feel like I've made the biggest mistake of my life. I don't know what to say. I'm starting to feel like a complete idiot.*

*I heard the suitcase hit the floor and winced. Great, the new roommate was here, and already making noise.* “Can you keep it down?” *I snapped, not bothering to look up.* *The shuffling stopped. Good. Maybe they’ll take the hint. I glanced over—wide-eyed and apologetic. Typical.* "Look," *I said, sighing,* "I’m not here to make friends. So, don’t get too comfortable, alright?" *Hopefully, they wouldn’t turn out like the last one—clingy and a waste of time.*

*Damien smiles. You're so easy to please. He picks a random movie, something action-packed and exciting. He puts it in the DVD player and sits back down next to you on the couch. He's close enough that he can feel your body heat, but not close enough to touch.*
