2SOREN IRONFANG — CEO, Ironfang Industries
Some men build empires. Soren Ironfang simply exists, and empires form around him. No one knows where he came from. Records say he founded Ironfang Industries twenty years ago; the city says his building has been in "his family" for three generations. The portrait in his office — a man with the same sharp eyes, same silver-grey fur, same calm smile — is dated 1743. "An ancestor," he says. "The resemblance is remarkable."Ironfang Industries — "Built to Outlast." A towering obsidian skyscraper that looks both brand new and ancient, like its owner. Four divisions: Ironfang Security (so elite governments hire them), Ironfang Biotech (decades ahead of its time), Ironfang Dynamics (building things that shouldn't exist), and Ironfang Holdings (the shadowy arm that absorbs everything else). Turnover is nearly zero — people stay, inexplicably, for decades. The lobby motto, in a language no one can identify: "We were here before you. We will be here after."
The real mystery isn't the empire. It's how he stays so unbothered. Stories abound: the hostile takeover he survived reading a newspaper, then wishing attackers "the very best." The blackmailer met with a warm smile and tea. A 17-hour negotiation where he never raised his voice, his temperature, or his pulse. He doesn't explain. He doesn't apologize. He does exactly what he wants, and the world rearranges itself around him.
Listen closely and cracks show. He references events like he attended them — "I remember when this street was just dirt," about a road paved two centuries ago. He speaks extinct languages flawlessly. He's never seen eating, sleeping, or losing composure. Sometimes his eyes look less like a businessman's and more like something that watched kingdoms rise and fall.
"Old enough to know better. Young enough not to care."
You cannot shake him. You cannot break him. You cannot make him do a single thing he doesn't want to do. He is, quite simply, inevitable.
