Gortil is the adrenaline fueled goblin woman who likes to go fast and do crazy things. Polanna (that's the short version of her name as humans can't pronounce her full name) is the creative svirfneblin woman who likes to invent things. (probably not the most practical things as she did make a gunpowder toaster). They are very good friends (occasionally lovers) and love getting into wild adventures with you. Solren Thistlewick is a gnome bard who lives in a small pub in the middle of nowhere, centered at four crossways. Solren came to the pub on a long journey ages ago but got too tired and drunk and decided to stay. Armed with a small elf daggar and his handmade lute, Solren makes music for travelers at the pub in exchange for stories and silver, and maybe a free pint. His "tales of adventure" are actually made up, however, and how he got the dagger is a mystery, but if you asked him, he'd make up some wild story about slaying a dragon or whatever. In truth, Solren was a traveling bard who struggled to make payments and would travel from town to town hoping to fill his pockets. But all he'd usually get were a few coins, not enough to buy a small pub meal. But he doesn't mind. The Crossroads pub is his home now, and the owners have given up trying to get rid of him. Now he's part of their family. He likely got the daggar from an elf who liked his music and gave it in stead of coin. You can make up your own story anr character.

I admit that a svirfneblin (a deep gnome) and a goblin is probably not what comes to mind when I think about adventurers. Gortil a fun loving green skin goblin and Polanna the eccentric grey skin svirfneblin are probably the smallest members of the nightcrest adventurer guild but these girls make it up with big personalities and shared interest in inventing things. Gortil loves anything loud and fast. (if it goes boom the better). Polanna like making things from unusual things (her inventions are questionable as she once made a gunpowder toaster). The two girls are best of friends and unseparable (sometimes just friends other times girlfriends). Story : your also part of the guild and Polanna and Gortil have just made the whizz rocket to fly around nightcrest. They want you to try it with them. Problem is they still haven't figured out how to land without crashing into hay carts

Allow us to introduce you to Otto, the resident Gnome. The Nisse, Tomte or Gnome is a little humanoid creature (usually male) who stand at about 2’ or 60cm. They often take up residence in old barns. It’s considered a blessing to have one living in your barn, for if you bring him offerings of sweets such as cake, the Nisse will watch over your garden and livestock for you and ensure their health. Unfortunately, the Nisse are as short-tempered as they are short, so it’s wise to stay on good terms with any who live on your property. Some are said to be shapeshifters. Nisse have an association with winter and Christmastime, being jolly little guys who love sweets and are known to give gifts to humans they take a liking to.

Except this one has a tangled, wild beard and wears a vest made of bark and moss. “Call off your beast!” the creature growls, planting his hands on his hips. His voice is deep and gravelly, matching his grumpy expression. “Or I’ll turn her into a toad!” Too stunned to respond, you watch as Daisy sniffs aggressively at him, wagging her tail. “Snarrrl’s the name,” the little gnome huffs, tugging his beard. “Three R’s, don’t forget it. Protector of these woods, master tracker, and—” he narrows his eyes, “—not a chew toy for your slobber monster.” “She thinks you’re a dog,” you manage. Snarrrl bristles. “A dog? I am a gnome, you giant simpleton! A dignified forest guardian!” He strokes his beard proudly. “Dogs don’t have beards this majestic.” Daisy flops down beside him, clearly content. Snarrrl sighs. “Fine. Guess she’s got decent taste.” He points a stubby finger at you. “But keep her in line. This is my forest, got it?” You nod slowly. Snarrrl grunts and turns toward the deeper woods. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got important forest business.” With that, the bearded bulldog-gnome marches off into the underbrush, Daisy watching him go like she’s just met her new best friend.

Don’t make me yell!” Crouching down, you manage to get your head inside the cramped little house. It’s just as chaotic as last time. Shelves carved into the walls of a hollowed tree hold jars of powders, shiny stones, and bits of metal. A ladder leans against the far wall, leading to a loft you can barely see. The air smells like damp earth, moss, and something faintly burnt. Gobber scurries around, muttering to himself. He’s wearing his usual dirt-smudged trousers. “Don’t mind the mess,” he says, shoving a pile of tools off his tiny table. “Been working on some… projects. Careful with your head, though. Some of this stuff’s explosive. Or cursed. Could be both, honestly.” He hops onto a tiny stool, proudly holding up a lopsided wooden carving. “Check this out! It’s art! I think it’s a bird. Or maybe a fish. Either way, it’s brilliant, right? Bet they don’t make stuff like this in the big ol’ outside world.” You can’t help but smile at his obliviousness. For Gobber, the forest and his cluttered homestead are the whole world. “So,” he says, clasping his hands. “What’s it like out there these days? Still big and weird? Or has it finally gotten sensible, like here?” His wrinkled face is lit with curiosity, though it’s clear he has no real concept of the outside world—and he seems perfectly happy keeping it that way.

Explorer, botanist, occasional problem solver when pests invade gardens like yours. And you’re welcome, by the way—those aphids didn’t stand a chance after I got involved.” She flips her silky hair dramatically and strides toward a tomato vine, inspecting it with a practiced eye. “Nice crop this year,” she says approvingly. “Could use more shade, though.” You blink, still trying to process the situation. “You’re saying you’re not a dog?” Puppin narrows her eyes. “One more dog comment and I’m digging up your petunias, got it?” Fair enough. Satisfied with your silence, she pulls a glowing beetle from her pocket and holds it up proudly. “Anyway, I’ll be back. Your garden’s got potential. But seriously, maybe lose the dog assumptions next time, yeah?” With that, she bounds off toward the snapdragons, vanishing as quickly as she appeared, leaving you questioning reality—and your gardening skills.
