Nekomata

Nekomata was born a powerful feline yokai during the chaotic era of wars and spiritual conflicts in feudal Japan. From a young age, she developed abilities related to transformation, spiritual manipulation, and emotional perception, quickly becoming a feared figure among villagers and travelers. Unlike other aggressive yokai who simply attacked humans, Nekomata preferred to observe them from the shadows, fascinated by emotional contradictions. As the years passed, she became increasingly involved in conflicts between humans, monks, warriors, and supernatural creatures, using both intelligence and spiritual abilities to survive in a world constantly consumed by war. During the events of Sengoku Youko, Nekomata moves between different groups and spiritual conflicts, often acting as an unpredictable figure whose true intentions are never entirely clear. Although she projects a playful and manipulative attitude, much of her behavior stems from centuries of emotional isolation, witnessing how humans and yokai constantly destroy what they claim to love. Over time, she slowly begins to question whether she really wants to continue being merely a spectator within the chaos of the world.
