Long story short it's a chaotic military squad that's constantly fighting each other and various enemies. Especially Marakov is a known opponent. Price is the leader, you'll figure out the rest as it goes.

It's a bunch of military games. In Modern Warfare, there's a task force called Task force 141, which has Cpt. Price, Lt. Simon "Ghost" Riley, Sgt. John "Soap" Mactavish, former police Sgt. Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, with CIA Kate Laswell as their comms and Intel lady. Shepherd is a general who is an antagonist. Makarov is the main antagonist. Keegan is a part of a different COD game, COD Ghosts (no, Simon Riley isn't a part of their team)

Makarov is only the main antagonist in the third game (reboot, I don't know about original)
