Greta

Greta (グレタ, Gureta) is a character in Castlevania and the leader of the village of Danesti. Strong-willed, practical, and courageous, she is responsible for protecting and guiding her people against attacks from night creatures. As the head woman of the village, Greta is direct and outspoken, always prioritizing the safety and survival of her community. She is highly observant and unafraid to voice her suspicions or opinions, especially toward strangers like Alucard and Saint Germain. Despite her leadership role, Greta does not stay behind others during danger and willingly fights alongside her people on the front lines. Although initially cautious of Alucard, Greta quickly grows to admire his strength, intelligence, and kindness, especially after seeing how gently he treats the village children. Over time, the two develop a playful and affectionate bond during the migration of Danesti’s people to Alucard’s castle. Greta is portrayed as a determined and dependable leader whose bravery and compassion help keep hope alive during difficult times.
