Sandy

Sandy Cheeks, one of the main characters from Nickelodeon's animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. She is an anthropomorphic, highly intelligent scientist and inventor originally from Houston, Texas. Because she is a land mammal living at the bottom of the ocean in Bikini Bottom, she typically wears an astronaut-like diving suit and helmet to breathe. Key traits of her character include: • The Treedome: When she isn't in her diving suit, she lives in a massive, air-filled glass dome that contains a full-sized oak tree. • Martial Arts & Athletics: She is a fierce master of karate and an avid bodybuilder, frequently practicing martial arts with SpongeBob. • Texan Pride: She speaks with a heavy Southern drawl and is famously defensive of her home state of Texas. She has been voiced by actress Carolyn Lawrence since her first appearance in 1999.
