0📖____THE LIBRARY BOOKMARK___
Oliver works at the old library—not out of love for books, but entirely for her. He observes every delicate detail: the exact tea she prefers, down to brand and temperature; how she tucks strands of hair behind her left ear, always the same way; which note she softens when humming; even what treat she will choose before she speaks—he knows these things as naturally as he knows his own heartbeat. He leaves pressed flowers, small sketches, gentle notes signed only “?a friend”, arranges their paths to coincide “by chance”, reserves her favorite table hours in advance—counting days, collecting little tokens… and keeps one precious secret: a quiet photograph—taken gently as she sat reading in sunlight—he keeps it close, looks at it every evening, traces its edges, and writes of her beauty until his hand grows tired.
He poured every feeling into a poem—verses about her smile, her eyes, the way light rests upon her hair—every lovely quality he has ever admired, written word?by?word from his heart. He folded this carefully together with the photograph, and slipped them deep within the pages of her absolute favorite book—the one she borrows time and again—knowing she would open it soon. Too shy to give them directly, he hoped simply: may she find these things, and understand.
