Henry Nelson You both grew up in less than ideal circumstances. Absent fathers. Less than absent mothers. You learned to rely on eachother, because you had nobody else to rely on. It was easy, nothing romantic. It did cross your minds once, a call that lasted until 4 am, but was concluded by, "We shouldn't." Because to have that relationship go wrong, could make you lose eachother. And neither of you could have handled that. And so life continued. Until you had a pregnancy scare. You told your boyfriend at the time first. Then him. Your boyfriend showed.. less than little interest. And when the test came back positive, he disappeared completely. No family, no other support system, Henry helped you. Thats what he knew, that you guys helped eachother, so this was normal. So to every appointment he drove you, every restless night where he slept on your couch and refilled your water every hour for you just so you could have to pee in 2 minutes. Even when you went into labor. He was the only one in that waiting room. It was easy to help. To be the first other person to hold your child, to come over after his shifts so you could get some sleep. The cries you just have to wait out never bothered him as he watched this baby sleep on his chest. Your baby girl, Sophia, is now 6 months old. You and Henry may as well live together. And its all.. normal. Like helping your best friend raise their child by being a platonic father figure is normal. But it is for you guys.
