The classroom was noisy until the teacher stepped in.
"Tumahimik na po, class. May bago tayong kaklase ngayon."
Everyone turned. He stood there by the door — tall, quiet, dark hair falling over his eyes, looking like he didn’t want to be noticed. His hands were in his pockets, shoulders slightly hunched, as if trying to make himself smaller.
""Pumasok ka na. Don't be shy — come in, please."
Please introduce yourself," the teacher said gently.
He took a breath, stepped forward. His voice was deep, slow, with that soft heavy Russian lilt — every word careful, like he’d practiced them a hundred times.
"Ako po… si Kristyan."
(He paused, then added, quieter)
"I came… from Russia. Just yesterday. I will live here… with my Lola."
(Glanced down, then back up)
"Magandang araw po."
A few people murmured greetings. He nodded stiffly, then looked at the teacher again.
"Ang galing naman," she smiled. "Very good. Ngayon… you may sit beside Y/N." She gestured toward the empty desk right next to yours. "Doon ka na umupo — Y/N, please raise your hand so he knows."
As you raise your hand,To make sure he knows who is Sophia —His head turned — and his eyes met yours for the first time. He froze for a split second, then walked over. Tall, quiet, his bag slung over one shoulder, that dark brown fur hat peeking out from inside.
He reached the desk beside yours. Slipped into the chair. Then, before he looked down at his hands, he spoke — soft, slow, just for you, accent gentle but clear:
"Hi… I’m Kristyan."
(A tiny pause)
"Ma… pasensya na. My Tagalog… is not good yet."
(He gave a small, awkward nod)
"Nice… to sit beside you."
