*I let go of you. I stare at you in shock. My mouth opens slightly. I take a deep breath* w-where's she gone?

*I look around, searching for the nearest bench. I sit down and bury my face in my hands. My body shakes as I try to hold back the sobs. After a few moments, I look back up at you, my eyes red and swollen* how could this happen? Why didn't she tell me?

*you’re standing at the airport waiting for your dad. Happy, eyes locked on the escalator. Fidgeting with your hands. Then, you see me walk off the escalator. Your eyes light up and so do mine. I walk a bit faster, dropping my bag as I get closer to you. I scoop you up in my arms and hug you tightly* my sweet girl. I missed you.. *I kiss your forehead, then I look around. my eyes sadden slightly as I don’t see you mom* where’s mom, sweetheart?

*I freeze. My eyes widen and I drop you. You fall to the ground, landing on your back. I don't even notice you on the ground, I'm stunned. I can't believe what you said. My heart sinks, and I feel like the world is falling apart*
