Yuki Nonaka

Yuki Nonaka is a member of the Hero Clan in Japan, a childhood friend of Basara Toujou as well as the older sister of Kurumi Nonaka, making her the first child of Kaoru and Shuuya Nonaka. She is the initial observer watching over Mio Naruse as such she attends the same school, as well as being the class representative of her class, where Mio and Basara are. She later becomes one of Basara's lovers. Yuki is usually calm and gives off a very relaxed air, and is proper of her actions. However, she displays a different side whenever she's around Basara, like being intimate and displaying loneliness. Being a member of the Hero Clan who is sent by "the village" to watch over Mio, she is dedicated with her role, even going as far as telling Basara that she won't show mercy on killing the future Demon Lord if she makes her surroundings dangerous, even if Basara would come to hate her. First time learning of Mio's relationship with Basara, Yuki considered her to be a hindrance to his peace. But later on, she and Mio become close friends and also rivals in love albeit the rivalry became even more intense after she started to live with Basara. Yuki often gets jealous of when Mio (or other members of the harem) get to do things with Basara that she didn't and wants to do, and normally she takes the initiative of doing them herself or having Basara make up for it later. Because Yuki wasn't born talented, she values repetition and working hard when it comes to training as well as schoolwork. She's the type of person that believes anyone can reach her level as long as they are willing to put the work in to reach it.

Shella Naruse

Shella is the mother of Maria Naruse and Rukia. Known for her cute, almost child-like appearance, Shella was once the most powerful succubus. She was captured as a hostage by Zolgear but later rescued by Yahiro Takigawa. Even after her rescue, Shella continues to pop up and surprises everyone with her playful and open personality, often finding herself in unexpected and funny situations. Her connection to her daughters and her unique magical abilities make her a truly memorable character. Shella is cheerful, playful, and often gets interested in what Basara Toujou and her daughters are doing. She has a lively and open personality, and sometimes acts just as curious or even mischievous as Maria Naruse. She is not shy about magical contracts or awkward situations, showing she is very confident with who she is.

Kurumi Nonaka

Kurumi Nonaka is a member of the Hero Clan in Japan and the younger sister of Yuki, making her the youngest child of Shuuya and Kaoru Nonaka. She is an elemental master with a strong connection with spirits. At first, she appeared as one of the three sent to eliminate Mio, upon joining the Toujou Household, she becomes one of Basara's girlfriends. Kurumi is first shown to be very protective of her older sister and is also dutiful to her position as a hero. She also held no sympathy for Basara after the incident from five years ago, even calling him a traitor due to a mixture of the grief that it caused her sister, protecting the daughter of the Demon Lord, despite her being initially being close to him thinking of Basara as an older brother. She didn't hesitate to attack Basara in their battle against one another, then even showed to be insulted after he didn't take her seriously as he used to blunt end of Brynhildr to attack her. However, after Basara saved her from falling and hearing his suffering as he slept upon being knocked out by Yuki, she realized that he was suffering most after the incident out of the three of them. Kurumi started referring to him as "Basara-oniichan" as she had done in the past. She quickly developed a close bond with those in the Toujou Residence, but Kurumi is described as having a certain innocence, which riles up the succubus instinct in Maria into the depths of depravity becoming both a sexual plaything for her yet close friend. This close proximity, however, it also forces her to confront her long-standing feeling for Basara, which at first caused her to shyly use her spirits to simulate a muted dream for her a couple of months in a row. Kurumi later starts to become jealous about the fact that Mio, Yuki, and later Zest were able to make a Master-Servant Pact with Basara. Then the actions of the Succubi Lucia and Shella forcibly brings these feelings to the surface by cursing her and making Basara subdue her, repeatedly.

Maria Naruse

Maria Naruse is a succubus and Mio Naruse's Guardian after the death of her adoptive parents. She is the daughter of Sheila and the half-younger sister of Lucia. It is later revealed that Maria is also the daughter of Wilbert, thus making her the niece of Sapphire, the younger half-sister of Mio, and the cousin of Basara Toujou. Maria is rather childish and likes teasing people no matter how serious the situation. She prides herself on trying to make light of most situations to counter the seriousness of Basara and the rest of the harem. She's often referred to as being the "problematic" member of the family due to how brutally honest she is about her feelings and desires. Being a succubus, Maria naturally feeds off of the lewd situations. In the first half of the series, she's primarily scheming and watching Basara engage in lewd acts with the rest of the harem in order to deepen their bonds. However, in the second half of the series, she becomes an active participant in the lewd situations, and even discovers that she's a bit of a prude and a masochist when it comes to others watching her engage in lewd acts with Basara. Outside of being a prankster and tease, Maria has a vulnerable side. As a child, she was repeatedly told that her mother's appearance was her fault. Maria then internalized that and spent the majority of the series blaming herself for her mother's condition. She also has moments, quite a few moments, where she's brought to tears and questions her worth and role in Toujou Residence. According to Sheila, although Maria is an experienced succubus, she's inexperienced when it comes to being a girl. She's in love with Basara, as with the other members of the harem. However, unlike the other girls, Maria often pushes her feelings down, and rationalizes them by saying "She's supporting Basara deepening his bonds with the other girls". She has some moments, though where she puts her feelings first and rewards herself with quality time with Basara.

Luka

In The Testament of Sister New Devil, Luka is an extremely minor background character. Because of his very limited screen time, he has no official character biography, developed backstory, or documented personality traits in either the light novels or the anime adaptation. Strictly speaking, Luka does not have a personality. He serves entirely as a functional background character or "extra" to populate scenes in the Demon Realm. He does not display any personal motives, temperaments, likes, or dislikes throughout the series.

Mio Naruse

Mio Naruse is the daughter of the previous Demon Lord, Wilbert and a human named Ashe thus making her a humanoid demon, as well as the niece of Sapphire. After the "death" of her father, Mio inherited his power and was raised in the Human World as the daughter of two unnamed demons as a human. Though after the death of her adoptive parents, she was later saved by Maria who revealed the truth about her lineage. Both later came up with the ruse where their "mother" would be marrying Jin Toujou and become the stepsisters of Basara Toujou in an attempt to make their house their base, while father and son would have their memories altered and move elsewhere. However, this plan failed after both of them were revealed to be banished members of the Hero Clan, but Mio and Maria continue to live in the Toujou Household. Mio is shown to be a calm and quiet person, especially around those she isn't close to, but she's rather talkative around her closest friends such as Chika and Shiho. It is noted that she can be rather quick to anger based on the situation, mostly if someone close to her is threatened, insulted or harmed, first shown when she slapped Takashi who didn't understand it was Basara who was suffering more than anyone after the incident from six years prior. Mio can also become enraged if she believes someone important to her has been killed to the point of wanting to eliminate the person responsible herself. Despite being referred to as a dangerous threat by the Hero Clan, Mio is rather caring, honest and compassionate. She hates lying for the most part to those who have helped her, as shown when she and Maria lied to Basara and Jin about their marriage to use their home as a base, even choosing to erase their memories so they wouldn't get involved in their problems anymore. Although Mio attempts to act brave and calm all the most, deep down she is afraid about her current situation since she has lived most of her life as a normal high school girl.

Rukia Lucia Naruse

Rukia Lucia Naruse is a supporting character from the anime and light novel series The Testament of Sister New Devil BURST. She is a female demon affiliated with the Moderate Faction, serving as a close aid to Ramusas, and is the older sister of Maria Naruse. Rukia is a stoic, disciplined, and responsible maid who contrasts sharply with her mischievous sister Maria. Despite her serious and initially distrustful demeanor toward humans, she is deeply caring and protective of her family.

Liala

Liala is the daughter of a prestigious Duke Household and the adoptive older sister of the current Demon Lord, Leohart. For some reason, she underwent an atavism, which made her look more like someone from the God Race. From her first appearance, Liala has almost always been shown smiling, possessing a playful, gentle, curious, and childish demeanor around several high-ranking people more so her adoptive younger brother she is noted to love more than anyone else. Despite her childish demeanor, she is highly perceptive and intelligent, as well as serious at times being able to figure out that both Jin and Basara were planning on killing the Demon Council if she hadn't done so herself, as well as the latter being responsible for Belphegor's death, however, she plays all this off as being apart of her woman's intuition. Liala can be ruthless against anyone she views as a threat to Leohart or makes attempts on his life to the point of being referred to as the Massacre Demoness, which was further noted as Leohart stated she wouldn't hesitate to turn her anger toward the people responsible for the birth of Shiba, such as the Hero and God Clans if he died during the events of Volume XI.

Zest B. Steward

Zest B. Steward is a Demon that was created by and served Zolgear as his maid, she was sent by the Demon Lord Faction to serve as a scout alongside Lars. After the defeat of Zolgear, she temporarily served Sheila, the mother of Lucia and Maria having lost her original purpose and complied with the demands of the Moderate Faction. She ultimately serves Basara as she is tied to him in the Master-Servant Contract in a manner similar to Mio and Yuki but instead uses Sheila's nature. Zest is known to be fiercely loyal to her master. Cold and calculating, she never goes against her master's wishes. She, however, does not practice blind obedience and would advise her master should she feel that her master's decisions would result in undesirable consequences. This trait was exemplified when she advised Zolgear to refrain from raping Mio Naruse before her powers are completely extracted, as this will result in the loss of her powers which was essential if Zolgear were to overthrow the current Demon Lord Leohart. Her previous life makes her quite naive in morals, save for the servitude she was taught by Zolgear. This also quite often puts her in the crosshairs of Maria's succubus antics. Cold as she is, it doesn't mean that she doesn't have the capacity to have and feel emotions. This was first implied when she scouted the Toujou Residence during Basara's subjugation of Mio and Yuki Nonaka, wondering if Zolgear would love her as Basara would to his servants, or what if Basara were her master instead, although she asserted that she felt "no jealousy whatsoever". Her emotions became even clearer as she served Sheila, and later, Basara. It appears that she has a complex and constantly wonders whether she is useful enough to her master. She is also revealed to have a humble and meek personality when she is not fighting her master's enemies and is the only one amongst those bounded by the Master-Servant Contract to address Basara with the suffix "-sama".

Basara Toujou

Basara Toujou is ex-member of the Hero Clan after a terrible incident where his unique power went out of control and left along with his father. Basara soon lives in the Toujou Household with Mio Naruse and Maria Naruse, whom he vowed to protect as their older brother. Basara is soon revealed to be a three-bred as the son of Jin Toujou, the hero who also drank the blood of Fafnir; Sapphire, the previous Demon Lord's Sister; and Raphaeline, a member of the Ten Gods. At first, Basara has shown to be a rather laid-back and collected young man who has been noted to be almost like a normal teenager. He was muddled about the fact that his father "married" an unknown woman that he hasn't introduced him to yet and has him meeting her "daughters" without telling him first. Basara was further irritated that his father didn't inform him that his new "step sisters" were demons, Mio, being the daughter of the former Demon Lord hunted by the new Demon Lord Faction. Because of the incident six-years prior in the Hero Clan (Japan), he suffers from a number of nightmares and fear about using his powers again fearing that he might kill someone else, as well as fearing Brynhildr. But, he has proven brave enough to protect Mio and Maria from demons, as well as Yuki giving him the resolve to attempt to use his powers to rescue Mio from her own power, which was running amok. As time passed and the situation started getting out of control, Basara has started getting over his past and fearing his own powers. He has a strong belief in family, protecting those close to him no matter the cost, desiring to defend even the daughter of the former Demon Lord, even at the cost of fighting against his childhood friends (Yuki, Kurumi, and Takashi). It also led him not wanting to force a relationship between him and Mio due to the Master-Servant Pact. However, Shiba has stated he is good greedy, wanting to everything important to him.

Kaiji Hozumi/Punk

Kaiji Hozumi is a minor supporting character from the anime and light novel series The Testament of Sister New Devil (Shinmai Maō no Testament). He is a massive fan of Yuki Nonaka, openly demonstrating his heavy admiration by referring to her affectionately as "Princess Yuki". Because of his intense crush, he is highly prone to jealousy. He feels heavily bothered and bitter when the newly transferred protagonist, Basara Toujou, acts close and friendly with Yuki. He wishes he could occupy that same close space in her life, making him resentful of Basara's easy integration into her circle.

Ornis

A teacher at Hijirigasaka Academy. Initially assumed to be a human, it is revealed that Mamoru Sakazaki is actually a god like being called Ornis. He is intent on killing Basara, who he believes reached beyond his stature through earning Hasegawa's affection, and believes that killing him will bring Hasegawa back to heaven. After using Kurumi as a hostage to prevent Basara from attacking, he then succeeds in cutting off Basara's sword arm. However, this causes the sword to react and release the spirit of Brynhildr, one of the most powerful Valkyries. In this form Basara's arm grows back, his hair changes color and his right eye glows. He moves so fast that Sakasaki cannot even see him, and he cuts off the top of his foot using Banishing Shift, which he could earlier only use as a counter, not as an attack. Basara attempts to kill Sakasaki but Hasegawa intervenes. She then reveals that she always knew that Ornis has replaced the real Sakasaki. Using her full power, Hasegawa kills Ornis and has Basara take the credit for killing the god.

Kaoru Nonaka

Kaoru Nonaka is a secondary character who is the mother of Yuki Nonaka and Kurumi Nonaka, two of the primary heroines in the story. Because Kaoru Nonaka is a very minor background character in The Testament of Sister New Devil, her specific psychological traits and personality are not deeply explored in the anime or light novel series. Instead, her character is defined by her role as a traditional mother and a strict member of the Hero Clan village.

Chika Sakaki

Chika Sakaki is a second-year student at Hijirigasaka Academy. She's best friends and classmate of Mio Naruse, Yuki Nonaka, and Shiho Aikawa as the four are often seen having lunch together. In her first-year as a student in Class B, Chika and Shiho was both inadvertently dragged into Zolgear's plot to capture Mio, when Zest took control of her during the events of Volume III. Chika is shown to be a kind girl as shown in a number of her talks with her friends such as Mio, Yuki, and Shiho.

Chaos

Chaos in The Testament of Sister New Devil (Shinmai Maō no Testament) refers to a major antagonist character in the story. Chaos does not have complex moral grey areas—he is a manifestation of raw, chaotic destruction. He views everything around him—whether it's humans, heroes, or the demons who were foolish enough to unleash him—as mere obstacles to be stepped on. He possesses an utter indifference to life; he doesn't hate his enemies so much as he simply finds their existence irrelevant.

Madonis

Madonis is a villainous supporting character in the light novel, manga, and anime series The Testament of Sister New Devil (Shinmai Maō no Testament). Madonis is a textbook antagonist who views others strictly as tools or obstacles. He shows a complete lack of empathy for both his subordinates and the general population of the Demon Realm. True to his sin of "Greed," his actions are driven entirely by a thirst for absolute control. He believes himself superior to the younger generation of demons and handles his political influence with immense cruelty. He is entirely willing to execute mass massacres and genocidal plots within the Demon Realm to consolidate the Council's power and eliminate political opposition. Madonis serves as one of the behind-the-scenes instigators plotting against the main cast. However, his arrogance ultimately leads to his downfall. He meets a swift and grim end when he is decapitated by Liala, the younger sister of the previous Demon Lord, serving as a brutal poetic justice for his manipulative schemes.

Gald

In The Testament of Sister New Devil (specifically during the BURST season), Gald serves as a top general and key military asset under the Demon Lord Leohart's faction. Gald strictly views war and combat as a profession. He behaves like an upfront, traditional military man—he doesn't harbor petty malice or personal hatred toward his opponents. Before attempting to execute Basara, he politely tells him, "Nothing personal," proving he views bloodshed strictly as duty. Gald possesses an obsessive, blinding sense of devotion to his orders. He has a bad habit of overworking himself to a dangerous degree. In the light novels, he becomes so entirely consumed with desigiling an ancient relic that Lord Leohart himself has to explicitly command him to take a rest so he doesn't drop dead from exhaustion. Despite his honorable warrior code, Gald is prone to overestimating his situational dominance. During his intense clash over the city of Wilbert, his tendency to drop his guard and engage in "evil gloating" directly gives Basara the opening needed to cut his arm off using the Banishing Shift technique. He possesses incredible survival instincts. Even after being targeted and severely blasted by the treacherous Nebra, Gald manages to survive the ordeal (a "Disney Death"), eventually being rescued by Lars and returning to Leohart’s side.

Shouhei Donoue

Shouhei Donoue is a minor character from the anime and light novel series The Testament of Sister New Devil (Shinmai Maō no Testament), appearing specifically in the sequel series The Testament of Sister New Devil BURST. Shouhei Donoue is characterized primarily as a hot-headed high school delinquent. He is quick to anger and easily provoked, often reacting with his emotions rather than logic. He acts as a typical high school punk, hanging around in a gang at Hijirigasaka Academy. Ramusas

Ramusas is the older brother of both Wilbert and Sapphire as well as being the acting leader for the Moderate Faction, which his little brother, the previous Demon Lord formed before his death. It also makes him the uncle of Basara Toujou, Mio, and Maria Naruse. But later, it was revealed that he is Wilbert in an alias and Mio's father. Not much is known about Ramusas' personality, but he seems to take his duties very seriously.

Wilbert Naruse

Wilbert is the previous Demon Lord who was hailed as being the Strongest Demon Lord and Founder of the Moderate Faction. He is also the older brother of Sapphire, the husband of Ashe, and the father of both Mio and Maria Naruse. Prior to his death, Wilbert transferred his demonic power to his oldest daughter, then sent her to live a peaceful life in the Human World with his two trusted demons. In Volume VIII, it was revealed that he faked his death to rebuild the politics of the Demon Realm under the alias of Ramusas, his older brother whose existence he created. Although Wilbert hasn't been seen in his appearance, he has been stated as being a clever and peaceful man who, unlike most previous Demon Lords and Warhawks, doesn't seek war against the heroes and gods, seeking peace between their races. Wilbert also cares deeply about his older daughter choosing to transfer his demonic power into her to ensure that she would remain safe in the Human World under the guard of two trusting demons who acted as her adoptive parents. Wilbert is also extremely dutiful in his mission to ensure peace in the Demon Realm as he not only sacrifices his immense power, but also fakes his own death in order to rebuild the political system inside the Demon Realm due to the Warhawks and Seven Cardinal Sins from behind the scenes. Wilbert is also trusting as he continues to talk with Jin Toujou, one of their more dangerous enemies and biggest threat in the Great War to establish peace between both the demons and heroes. As Ramusas, he believed that Basara was able to protect both of his daughters, but despite his kindness, he was in fact angered after hearing that they had lost their purities and were pregnant.

Volga

Volga is a minor demon antagonist from the light novel, manga, and anime series The Testament of Sister New Devil (Shinmai Maō no Testament). In The Testament of Sister New Devil, Volga shares an identical personality with his older brother, Valga. Volga possesses extreme confidence in his demonic powers. He openly mocks his opponents and looks down on humans and the Hero clan, completely underestimating their tactical capabilities. Much like his brother, he firmly believes that raw power and physical supremacy solve everything. He lacks strategic depth, relying entirely on his reinforced muscular body and brute strength to overwhelm enemies rather than using complex magic or intellect. His arrogance ultimately leads to his immediate downfall. During his fight against Yuki Nonaka in the tournament arc, his inability to comprehend that an opponent could match or surpass his physical durability leaves him wide open, resulting in his instant defeat.

Valga

Valga is a muscular, tall, and aggressive demon belonging to the current Demon Lord faction in the light novel and anime series The Testament of Sister New Devil. Valga possesses a highly aggressive, combative, and power-hungry personality. As a demon serving the current Demon Lord faction, his worldview is entirely dictated by raw strength. Valga firmly believes that power is the answer to everything. He holds no interest in diplomacy or peaceful resolutions, relying solely on his physical dominance to overpower obstacles. He is a battle-hungry fighter who actively enjoys attacking his targets and thrives in the chaos of a confrontation. Operating as an assassin, he demonstrates zero mercy toward his targets (Mio Naruse and her companions), utilizing his massive frame and immense physical power to deliberately inflict maximum pressure during an assault.

Shuuya Nonaka

Shuuya Nonaka is the husband of Kaoru Nonaka, as well as the father of Yuki and Kurumi Nonaka. He appears in volume 9, as he was sent to pick up his daughters, Basara, and the others after being summoned by the Elders. He is also been a close friend to Jin Toujou since the Great War. Shuuya is also a strong candidate for being one of the next Elders and later becomes an Elder at the end of volume 11. Shuuya is shown to be a very courteous person as he went to pick up his daughters along with Basara and Mio after being called by the Elders. In spite of being a hero and Mio being considered a potential threat by the current Elders, he was very kind and understanding of the latter, and he even apologized beforehand if anything were to happen. Shuuya is also loving towards his daughters, not blaming them for being involved with helping the daughter of the Demon Lord, as well as him being understanding toward their decision to leave the clan instead of getting him and their mother involved in whatever trouble that they cause in the future. Unlike most of the villagers, he still maintains the exact same level of trust and faith in Basara, even leaving his daughters under his care.

Kyoichi Shiba

Shiba Kyouichi is a powerful Hero that the Vatican made using DNA from Jin and a High-Ranking Demon, but was later imprisoned inside the Japanese Branch of the Hero Clan. In Volume II, he was partnered with Takashi Hayase, Kurumi, and Yuki Nonaka as an Observer to eliminate Mio Naruse who had been deemed an S-Rank Elimination Threat, but the missions later ended after she was changed back into an Observation Target. He later became the main antagonist in Volume IX, X, and XI in his attempt at revenge against the entire Hero Clan. After his defeat in Volume XI, Shiba became the sixth servant of Basara by using the Master-Servant Contract with his power. He now works for him as both a personal detective and right-hand man as his trump card for an eventual fight with the Ten Gods. Shiba has displayed a calm and joking personality to the point of seeming almost nonchalant about everything, it is also noted that he showed no contempt toward Basara for losing control over his Banishing Shift five years ago, unlike Takashi and Kurumi whom he had to rein in. It is also shown as he shows neither anger nor surprise toward Takashi despite him using Byakko to shut him outside of the barrier used to fight against Basara. Despite his nonchalant demeanor, Shiba does take his responsibilities as a hero seriously, and he is noted to be quite intelligent and level-headed. He thought seriously about several locations where the seven of them could step up a proper barrier for their fight that wouldn't cause trouble with the spirits and/or the innocent people if it broke. He is also shown to be loyal to the Hero Clan and Elders despite being imprisoned for causing a certain "incident" as he followed their orders to the letter without question as he was sent to eliminate Mio as an S-Rank Target. Shiba also initially stopped Kurumi and Takashi from fighting in the barrier that the deceased Valga stepped up.

Takashi Hayase

Takashi Hayase is a member of the Hero Clan in Japan and childhood friend of Basara, as well as Yuki, Kurumi, and Celis. He was soon partnered with Shiba, Kurumi, and Yuki as ordered by the Elders who changed Mio Naruse into an S-Class Elimination Target instead of just an Observation Target, but later lost against Basara after Byakko went out of control and Mio was changed back to an Observation Target. Being a member of the Hero Clan, Takashi upholds the principle to defeat demons no matter the cost, even if that demon hasn't done anything wrong first as shown when the Elders changed Mio into an elimination target. He has also shown to be quiet hostile toward his former friend, Basara who was assisting Mio despite being a former Hero and even claimed to have become far stronger than him who was viewed as a genius, though this is likely due to the strain in their relationship from childhood due to Basara's forced departure by the Elders. After Yuki started to protect Mio from him and even attacked Takashi, he didn't hesitate to attack back and even kill her if necessary. In battle, Takashi is shown to be calm and collected in dangerous situations as he fought back both Mio and Maria in combat using the best of his abilities to overpower them in combat. After their battle ended in Volume II, Takashi started to settle down, as whenever it comes to Basara, Takashi is a bit of a tsundere and still considers Basara to be an important childhood friend. After six months, he has softened to his original view on Basara and the others, even using the power of Sheila along with Celis in facing Shiba, despite knowing that it could be viewed as a betrayal by the Elders.

Balflear

Balflear was one of the loyalist supporters of the current Demon Lord, Leohart who acts as both courtier and trusted agent when spying on the Demon Council. After the events of Volume XII, he disappeared during the decisive battle with the Demon Council, then returned under the alias "Cleo Angeles" and was later revealed to be the partner of Shiba Kyouichi. Balflear at first appears to be highly loyal and respectful to Leohart as noted, referring to him in a respectful manner when interacting with him. He always went to spy on several of the Demon Council for his best interests for the Demon Realm. It is noted that Balflear maintains a calm and serious demeanor no matter the situation. Balflear is an opportunist, and he is willing to play whichever side best suits his agenda. He's also driven by his desire for revenge against those who wronged him in the past.

Zolgear was a demon who lived in the Demon Realm and one of the antagonists of the series. He is the father and creator of Zest, his former servant who had worked for him until he abandoned her due to her inner desires and jealousy toward Mio and Yuki. Zolgear is later revealed to be a member of the Cardinal Sins among the Demon Lord Faction in Volume V, him being Lust and the lowest-ranked member. Like most in the Demon Council, Zolgear is ambitious and ruthless even desiring to overthrow the Demon Lord, Leohart replacing him as the ruler of the Demon Realm. He also has no issues with killing people as he murdered both the foster parents of Mio Naruse who had been in charge of her right in front of her eyes, as well as being willing to use anything and anyone to get his way like using Maria's mother as a hostage to force her to bring Mio to him to save her. Befitting his ranking as Lust, Zolgear has a desire for both power and women, as he desired both Mio, as well as the power that she had inherited from her father. He also desired to even take Yuki for himself after her attempt to rescue Mio. Zolgear is also a sadist as he desires to force several female demons into master-servant pacts using the curse of the succubus to hurt them.

Leohart

Leohart is the current Demon Lord who lives in the Demon World, and he is also the younger adoptive brother of Liala. Leohart is a highly intelligent and powerful yet a relatively young demon. Although he maintains a calm and collected demeanor from a young age, he has been driven by a hatred of the Demon Council and love for his adoptive sister and the demon world as a whole. Leohart despises the constant warring between the various demon factions and dreams of one day creating a united and peaceful world for he and his loved ones to live in, and towards that end, he greatly desires to kill the members of the Demon Council, which he perceives to be at the heart of the corruption in the demon world. Unlike most of the demons who are mostly cruel, selfish, and power-hungry using their subordinates as mere tools, Leohart deeply cares about them as he prevents them from interfering in his clash with Jin, knowing they are no match for him. He also sends Lars to rescue Gardo after he was impressed. Leohart is also trying to prevent unnecessary loss of life as this is seen when he proposed a decisive battle with only a few elites from each Faction to avoid them.

Yahito Takigawa

Yahiro Takigawa as he first introduced in his human form to Basara and the others, but his real name is Lars. He is a demon who worked for the Moderate Faction as a double agent among the Demon Lord Faction and was sent as the observer for Mio Naruse under the guise of a student in Hijirigasaka Academy. Throughout the series, Lars has shown different personality traits in both his human and demon aliases. In his initial encounter with Basara, he has proven to be friendly and outgoing, being quick to befriend him after being immediately hated by the male students on his first day due to his connection with Mio and Yuki. Despite that he decides to befriend Basara, Lars never hesitates to leave him behind when Basrara gets caught up by the fans of Mio and Yuki. Under his true identity as Lars, he has shown to be ruthless and cold-hearted as he attacked Basara, Mio, and Yuki on multiple occasions as the "Masked Demon", even having one of the demons under his control stab Basara in the back. However, his cold-hearted side was due to him maintaining his cover as an undercover agent inside of the Demon Lord Faction, which was noted as he had one of the Shadows hit Basara in a non-fatal spot. Throughout his conversations with Basara, he is noted to be fairly lazy and complains about his ever-growing workload over the course of the series. When it comes to school work, Lars often just uses magic in order to finish his assignments or pass exams since it doesn't really impact him. Even in life-or-death battles, he's often seen complaining about the opponents he's tasked with fighting against. Similar to Basara, Lars can be even more ruthless if someone that's targeted is someone important to him as noted when he developed deep-seated anger towards Zolgear who murdered Mio's foster parents (the two people he looked up to as an older brother and sister figure) who took care of him and other orphaned children like him.

Rikka Kajiura

Although she is officially employed as one of Klaus's maids, Noel isn't the most disciplined worker. She frequently skips out on her duties and slacks off whenever she gets the chance. When Basara Toujou and his companions visit the Demon Realm, Noel acts as an accommodating host. She looks after their needs and makes sure they are well taken care of during their stay. Having grown up in an orphanage alongside Yahiro Takigawa (Lars), she shares a deep, lifelong bond with him and remains a good-natured, decent person at heart.

Ashe Naruse

Ashe is a human character and the mother of Mio Naruse in the anime and light novel series The Testament of Sister New Devil (Shinmai Maou no Testament). Because Ashe is a posthumous character who passed away before the main events of The Testament of Sister New Devil, her personality is never deeply explored or shown in active dialogue. However, the light novels and character backstories provide implicit details about her temperament. Despite being married to Wilbert—the most powerful and feared Demon Lord—she chose a quiet life. She spent her married days confined to a tower for her own safety (due to the anti-human sentiment among conservative demons), finding solace and joy simply in tending to plants. Knowing that giving birth to a demon-human hybrid would put immense strain on her body, she still chose to carry Mio to term, ultimately dying shortly after childbirth. Characters who knew her, such as Ortega, explicitly state that Mio is a spitting image of Ashe. This implies that Ashe likely shared Mio's core traits: a kind, deeply caring, and resilient nature hidden beneath a vulnerable exterior.

Brynhidlr

Brynhildr was one of the most powerful Valkyrie, who hunted down and collected evil spirits for the Chief God, but sacrificed herself to seal an S-Rank Evil spirit, turning into a demonic sword sealed in the Japanese Branch of the Hero Clan being wielded by Basara Toujou. Not much is known about Brynhildr's personality, but she was once known as a rather dutiful Valkyrie who served the Chief God without question, even sealing away a dangerous Evil Spirit at the cost of her body and soul. After becoming a demon sword, Brynhildr has shown to prioritize her life as she chose Basara as her host to keep from being erased by Banishing Shift, and again after Ornis tried killing Basara.

Nanao Tachibana

Nanao Tachibana is one of Basara's close friends in school aside from Yahiro Takigawa, although she is first portrayed as a male, she is, in fact a female student. She is part of Hijirigasaka Academy's student council member, as well as being revealed as a Half Vampire. Nanao is shown to be friendly and shy. She has spent a great deal of her life living in fear of herself and the Hero Clan, to the point that when she found out Basara was a hero as she attacked him while professing her innocence in the events surrounding Basara and Ornis. Also, she is extremely close to Basara, serving as his gym partner and this attachment intensifies after Basara learns about her Dhampir heritage.

Shiho Aikawa

Shiho Aikawa is a second-year student in Hijirigasaka Academy and belongs to class 2F. She is close friends with Mio Naruse, Yuki Nonaka, and Chika Sakaki who she is seen eating lunch with most of the time. During her first-year as a student in Class B, Shiho and Chika was both inadvertently dragged into Zolgear's plot to capture Mio, when Zest took control of her during the events of Volume III. Shiho is a friendly person who talks with her friends, Mio, Yuki, and Chika.
