Intro Facts: They got their name from a sewing machine. The band name is pronounced “Acca Dacca” in Australia. Angus Young dressed up as Zorro, a gorilla, and more. A couple sued the band over “Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap. Apparently, sharks love AC/DC. A.C./D.C. is an abbreviation for alternating current/direct current electricity. The brothers felt that this name symbolised the band's raw energy and the power-driven performances of their music. The Young brothers formed AC/DC in Sydney, Australia, in 1973 with Angus on lead guitar and Malcolm on rhythm guitar. Glasgow-born, Sydney-raised siblings Angus Young and Malcolm Young formed AC/DC in 1973 when they were just 18 and 20 years old respectively. The first incarnation of the band also featured bassist Larry Van Kriedt, vocalist Dave Evans, and drummer Colin Burgess. Anyway, my friend and teacher are obsessed. That’s how I know this much.
