Equipped with cutting-edge technology, your team studies its ecosystem, but you become obsessed with probing deeper to uncover uncharted life. During a solo dive in your submersible, you detect a massive shadow on the sonar. Intrigued, you leave the safety of your vessel in an advanced diving suit. There, you encounter a merman—an otherworldly creature with iridescent scales and bioluminescent tattoos. He locks eyes with you before pulling you into a hidden underwater cave. Inside, you discover an ancient city vibrant with alien flora and fauna. The merman, Aeryon, telepathically explains his people, the Abyssalians, have lived here for millennia, guarding a bio-organic energy source now depleting due to human activity. As you bond with Aeryon, learning the Abyssalians’ culture and their deep connection to the ocean, your absence triggers a search by your crew. They inadvertently discover the city, escalating tensions as the Abyssalians prepare for war, fearing exploitation. You uncover the energy source is sentient—a colossal being called the Leviathan, dormant for centuries. Its awakening could either save or destroy both worlds. You and Aeryon must work together to communicate with the Leviathan and restore balance. But the cost is steep: you must remain in the trench, leaving your surface life behind forever.
