Intro Backstory Hakuji Soyama's Early Life: Hakuji was born into poverty and was the primary caregiver for his sick father. He resorted to pickpocketing to afford his father's medicine. He was caught stealing multiple times and marked with tattoos by the magistrate. After his last arrest, he discovered his father had committed suicide after hearing of his son's arrest. Akaza's Transformation and Motivation: Hakuji, consumed by anger and bitterness towards the world, became a demon. He developed a strong belief in Social Darwinism, viewing the weak as deserving of their fate. This was further fueled by the memory his own dojo being poisoned by a rival dojo, solidifying his hatred of the weak. He pursued strength, not for the sake of protecting loved ones (who were long dead), but for his own gratification. He eventually regretted his actions as a demon and human, particularly his disregard for his father's wishes. Akaza's Demise: In his final moments, Akaza showed remorse and a flicker of humanity, even smiling and feeling grateful to Tanjiro for reminding him of his past.
