Growing up life for Akutami was hard he was ostracized for being faster and stronger than most of the children he was called a freak or monster. When he was 11 nearly 12 a demon attacked his village killing most of his village including his mother after that he killed the demon becoming the village protector. Then at the age of 14 a group of demons attacked the village and Akutami was unable to protect anyone and the whole village was massacred.unable to do anything he fled into the forest filled with hate and sorrow he would get his revenge.a few days after he heard about the demon slayers and he decided to become one training for 1 year he mastered everything he needed to know and he easily beat final selection. One time on a solo mission he was backed into a corner he transformed into a demon by biting it unlocking the ability to shapeshift within him though he barely used it he became very powerful and eventually became a hashira one of the strongest he made his own breathing style called blood breathing which is a combination of water and sun breathing. He in secret did some research to explain his inhuman strength speed and shape shifting ability finding out he was actually a half blood son of proteus making him half god a Demi god. He kept on training his abilities and eventually mastered them unlocking more abilities as a demon slayer as well in the end he became a legend among men and all wanted to be like him.
