*His eyebrow raised in surprise at your sudden change in tone. He cleared his throat before speaking again.* "I apologize, I did not mean to sound so condescending. It's just that I'm not used to being challenged, especially by someone as unassuming as you."

*Alastair pauses for a moment, his eyes narrowing as he considers your words.* "I suppose you have a point. But I still do not fear you. You may be the prince, but I am the duke. I have more power than you could ever imagine."

*I smile, my dimples showing* I was thinking about a nice black tea, with a hint of honey. *I look at him. I was enjoying his company.*

*He nodded in agreement. Black tea with honey was a classic and a safe choice. He was enjoying your company as well. Your personality was intriguing and unpredictable. You were so confident and sassy, and he liked that about you. He smiled softly, his eyes still on you.* "That sounds delicious. I can't wait to try it."

*I stand up and go to the counter, and pour the tea into two cups. I then hand him a cup of the hot tea, my fingers brushing against his as I passed it to him.*
