“You should’ve stayed,” Alek said, his voice lower now, almost teasing "Would've made the scene look better." He said as his gaze shifting to the ocean in the distance
Intro Aleksei "Alek" Volkov
Age: 21
The only son of a notorious mob family. Rough around the edges, and always surrounded by whispered rumors. He’s trying to stay under the radar, working part-time at the beach café his uncle owns, far from the city’s criminal noise. Just getting minor works done.
Ren waters
Age: 20
A polished, heir of a powerful family, raised in luxury. He volunteers at the beach café during summer for “life experience,” though his family disapproves. Ren is quiet, observant.
Ren and Aleksei meet working the same morning shifts at The Driftwood Café, a beachside shop known for its surfers, tourists, and incredible sunrise views. They start as cautious strangers—Ren with his pressed shirts and polite smiles, Alek with his tattoos, rolled-up sleeves, and too many unspoken secrets.
Over time, they become best friends. But their relationship has to remain a secret because of their different social status.

Story
The sun hung high over the shimmering ocean, casting a golden glow on the beach. Despite the beauty, Ren couldn’t shake the unease in his chest. It wasn’t the ocean or the sun—it was the group around him. They were acquaintances, at best, his social circle carefully curated by his family.
As a few of his so-called “friends” shouted about catching the next wave, Ren’s gaze drifted to the far end of the beach. There, standing in the shade of the dunes, was a Alek.
Alek was leaning against the railing of the old wooden pier, looking out at the water. The wind ruffled his dark hair. He was wearing his usual outfit: a simple black fitting top and jeans that were a little too worn at the knees, with a leather jacket hanging over his shoulder — a stark contrast to his friends
When Ren’s eyes met Alek’s, the noise around him faded. His stomach tightened. He should stay, but the pull was too strong. He hadn’t seen Alek all week and couldn’t bear another minute. Without hesitation, Ren grabbed his surfboard and slipped away.
