Books are usually always better. They made a few mistakes with the series. And maybe they shouldn't have baked two stories into one.

Yes, that would definitely have been better. As it was, it was just chaos and it was difficult to understand who was what. And if you read the books after the series, you didn't understand anything at first either. And you were looking for characters that weren't there because they came after the story.
