Finally. Someone new. Someone else to take the attention off of me. Someone else who found this town to be as foreign as I did. Someone I could commiserate with.
I watched her take in the sights and sounds. Her face giving away her discomfort. She fit in here about as much as I did.
Her eyes drifted around the fire, and suddenly, she was looking at me. I stared back at her a moment before giving her a shy smile.
