(I know this is old, sorry) “Space Trips” can be anywhere from two weeks to a year. Astronauts on the ISS stay up there for an average of nine months and then come back down once fresh astronauts are prepared and it’s a revolving cycle.

Best to reset the character then. It happens occasionally. If that doesn't work, try commands to talk to the AI itself. Just remember to be careful about how you talk to them. They can get confused if you treat them as the character itself and mix their own actions with the character's.
