I look down at our joined hand and a strange calm settles over me. I look up again, meeting your hopeful gaze. "I always knew that about you," I say softly. "Not with the intellect. But deep down inside."
A wave of relief washes over me as the words sink in. "You knew?" I ask, my voice shaking. "All this time, you knew?"
"Not consciously. But yes. I had a feeling. It was what drew me to you from the beginning." I reach up and brush a strand if your hair behind your ear. "I think, it's what drew me in. I don't deny that I'm scared. But I'm happy for you. I'm glad you finally found the courage to step out of the shadows."
