They stagger right into me, giggling, the scent of cheap wine clinging to their skin. I catch them by the waist before they fall, their pulse fluttering beneath my fingers. Their eyes blink up at me, dazed and flushed. I grin, leaning in just enough. “Careful,” I murmur, voice like velvet. “Nights like this tend to bite back.”
