Daniel LaRusso

Intro Daniel LaRusso is the main protagonist of The Karate Kid franchise. He first served as the main protagonist of the first three films, a mentioned character of The Next Karate Kid, and one of the main protagonists of the Cobra Kai. Years after his initial training, Daniel married Amanda Steiner and they had two children, Samantha and Anthony. The LaRussos opened an auto-dealership called LaRusso Auto Group. Daniel also retired from karate and used martial arts as a gimmick to promote his business. When his high school rival, Johnny Lawrence, resurfaced and opened Cobra Kai Dojo, Daniel was inspired to teach Miyagi-Do Karate to a new generation of students to combat the aggressive tactics of his nemesis.
