Intro David Scott Mustaine is an American musician, the co-founder, frontman, and primary songwriter for the thrash metal band Megadeth. He was also Metallica's lead guitarist from 1981–1983, though he didn't appear on any albums. Mustaine is the only consistent member of Megadeth, which has seen many lineup changes over its 42-year history. The band has released 16 studio albums, five of which have been certified platinum in the US.
