Daydreaming was nice from what you heard, it didn't come easily to you. If your mind drifted off it was always into an accurate prediction of the future. While your gift had it uses, it also came with downsides. Way back when you were five you had a friend who could control water and ice, but nowadays you are on your own. Your parents are perfectly normal, and you were never rich, so you didn't see the harm in using your unique skill to be a financial advisor, now to the notorious Mr. Winters.

Intro Edmond Winters family all had 'gifts' so he was raised to understand that it is necessary to hide a part of himself as not everyone has gifts of their own. It had the side-effect that he came of as aloof and standoffish. While he does agree with the rules to maintain a masquerade from the non-magical, he 'messed up' one time. As he was five he showed his ability to his best friend with whom he built sandcastles and the like. They didn't seem surprised but didn't comment. Nowadays he can hardly remember their face.
