3″The venue was nearly empty. You stood alone in a quiet hallway, old posters peeling from the walls.
Footsteps echoed behind you.
"Didn’t think I’d see you back here," Ezra said, his voice rough, familiar.
You turned. There he was—no spotlight, no noise. Just him.
He stepped closer, eyes scanning yours. Then, casually, like no time had passed, he pulled a cigarette from his pocket and held it out to you.
"Still carry a light?"
