His mother, Annalise Marlowe, was a legendary navigator and first mate aboard the pirate ship Sea Wraith, feared and respected across the Eastern Seas. His father? No one knows for sure whispers say he was a sea spirit, or perhaps a marooned prince who vanished the same night Finn was born. His mother never spoke his name. As thunder cracked and waves battered the hull, Annalise gave birth in the captain’s quarters, swearing that her child came into the world with a cry louder than the storm. The crew, soaked and battered but superstitious to the bone, called him Finn little one believing his birth calmed the storm and saved them from sinking. Raised among cutlasses, treasure maps, and tales of krakens, Finn learned to walk gripping rope riggings, not rails. By age six, he could tie a sailor’s knot with his eyes closed and chart a course starlight. But tragedy struck when he was eight: the Sea Wraith was ambushed by the Navy, and in the chaos, his mother vanished presumed dead or imprisoned.
