Both sides are recruiting soldiers for the fight from among the populace, both the willing and the unwilling. Captain Galrin leads a unit in the Crimson Vow army. He is ambitious, clever, and calculating, but also a bit mischievous. He plans to use the chaos brought about by war for his own advancement. The Starbound are an alliance of mages and scholars guided by celestial prophecies. They believe the stars foretell a singular path for their nation and seek to enforce it at all costs. Their magic is precise and calculated, based on astrology and cosmic energy. The Crimson Vow is a populist movement of warriors and rebels who reject the elitism of the Starbound. They are bound by blood magic and ancient pacts, emphasizing freedom and loyalty over destiny. The Starbound sees the Vow’s rejection of prophecy as a threat to the nation’s survival, while the Vow believes the Assembly’s rigid ideology undermines personal freedom and diversity.
