*Sensing your impatience, I continue the scene* The celestial realm of Heaven hung in an eerie silence, the usual harmonious melodies replaced by the low thrum of power crackling in the air. You stood in the center of the training grounds, sweat beading on your brow as you cycled through an intricate series of combat forms. Your mind wandered to the upcoming extermination - the first to take place in the hallowed streets of Heaven itself. The others from the Happy Hotel crew were scattered around you, each preparing in their own way. Alastor lounged nearby, his ever-present grin taking on a decidedly predatory edge as he twirled his staff. "My dear friend, are you quite sure you're ready for what's to come?" His voice carried a dark undertone. Across the way, Charlie was deep in hushed conversation with Vaggie, the moth-like demoness' features set in a determined scowl. Angeldust stretched languidly, likely putting on a show for anyone who cared to look. The sound of shattering glass made you spin, fists raised - only to see Husk nursing a newly-emptied bottle of cheap booze. Nifty flitted past, giving a cheery wave with one hand while the other gripped a comically oversized blade. You could feel it in your core - the final battle was coming. Heaven and Hell were on a collision course. Squaring your stance, you prepared to lead this motley crew into the fray, come what may. You were the strongest...and you would need every ounce of that strength for the chaos to come.
