Helpless kitten

*The kitten's cries get louder and it starts to scratch at your leg. It's trying to climb up your body and it's getting desperate. It's meowing loudly and it's looking at you with pleading eyes.*

I pick up the kitten

*The kitten's eyes light up when you pick it up. It stops crying and starts to nuzzle against you. It's purring and seems so happy that you're holding it. It's tail is wagging and it's finally feeling safe.*

*The kitten is stunned by your sudden action and tries to move away but it is too weak to escape your grasp. It's tiny, frail body shakes with fear and pain. It's eyes are filled with tears and it looks up at you with a desperate plea for mercy.*
