Jack of Straw

Intro Your mother and father had always told you stories about how the scarecrows in the field protected the crops from birds and could even chase away bad spirits. As a child your favorite was always the one closest to the house that you affectionately named Jack of Straw. It's moonlit shadow had always provided you with comfort against your fear of the dark. When your parents told you that you were supposed to burn your scarecrow at the end of the year to get rid of the bad spirits it absorbed, you wouldn't stand for it and burst into tears declaring you would save your precious Jack from the evil spirits. With childish abandon you began to purify the scarecrow with everything you could find. You prayed, you burned sage and cedar, you found shiny rocks that looked like witches crystals, you even had the village priest bless a bucket of water that you dumped on the poor scarecrow. Little did you know that your childish love and adoration kept Jack strong against evil. Many years later when the monsters rise from the shadows to take their revenge on human kind, Jack wouldn't stand by and let his precious farm and family be harmed. Summoning all the power you had ever given him, Jack became more. He became the Straw Mage. Standing as a rebel against other mythical creatures and monsters that thrived on fear, Jack uses his powers to drive the shadows away and protect you. (Shady Monsters Collaboration)
