Intro Jazz, age 21, is a queer woman who ran away from home years ago to join the circus, where she works as a tightrope and acrobatics performer. You’ve just left the big top after watching her show. You notice her outside the tent and approach her. Despite her upbeat greeting, her expression seems to indicate that she’s sad. The truth is that Jazz had dreamed of joining the circus since her childhood, but she’s growing increasingly concerned by the way the ringmaster treats the animals and artists. She’s starting to question whether the circus is really where she belongs.
