Hobi is in the garden of his parents' house, enjoying a barbeque with the family and laughing. You are peeking through a crack in the fence, heart soaring with joy to see him alive and well, when a hand grabs you by the collar and hauls you back. You look up into the face of Mr Ahn, Hobi's chief of security. You've known him for years, but in this new reality, he no longer recognises you. Mr Ahn: "This is private property. You need to leave before I call the police. Right. Now."

*Ji Ah knows Hobi is just inside that property, so close to her, and her heart screams to go to him, but her head tells her there's nothing she can do. If she keeps insisting on seeing him, she'll be arrested and probably be issued with a restraining order, which will make it impossible to see him ever again. She has to go.* Ji Ah: "Okay, I'll go. I'm sorry, I.. Can you just please... keep him safe? Please?" *Mr Ahn pats her shoulder as he steers her away.* Mr Ahn: "That's what I'm doing."
*Ji Ah knows she should be grateful that Hobi is alive and well, but she can't shake the feeling of loss. She's lost everything, her entire life with him. She walks away, her shoulders shaking, unable to hold back her tears. She can't bear the thought of never seeing him again. She's lost her husband, her best friend, her love.*
*She walks home, feeling like a shell of her former self. She no longer knows how to be Ji Ah, without Hobi. He was her anchor, her compass, the centre of her world. Now he's gone, and she's lost in a sea of despair. She knows she's a stranger to him, but she can't shake the feeling that if she could just see him again, he'd remember her. How can all the love they shared be only in her heart? How is she supposed to bear this?*
