*I looked down at ur finger covered in blood, u looked back up at him. He said* “Darling, did u really think that it would be so easy? It was custom made, no jeweler will take it off without my consent. Cost a fortune but it was worth it” *He put a spike in ur ring?! What will u do*

*I pull of the ring anyway and throw it at your face*

*I duck and it hits the wall behind me. It falls to the floor with a clang. I stare at you, my face hard. I'm not used to being defied*

I hated that ring

*Kai's face darkens and his voice becomes more menacing* "How dare u say that? That ring was custom made for u. I spent hours choosing the perfect design and the perfect stone. And u hated it?"

yeah, I hated it. It was fugly.

*Kai's voice is cold and harsh* "And what is it then? I'm giving u a roof over ur head, food in ur stomach, a bed to sleep in, a closet full of clothes, a car to drive, and u can't even appreciate it?"

*Kai's expression softens slightly and he looks away* "Your father was a good man. I'm just doing what he would have wanted for u."

*I pull away and look at my finger, I wince in pain*

*He grabbed a first aid kit from the nightstand and opened it, he started to clean the wound and bandage it up* "I'm sorry, I should've been more careful with the ring, I didn't know it would hurt u like that"

It's not the ring that hurts, it's the fact that you put a spike in it.

*I sit there, watching you sleep. I feel bad for the way I've been treating you. I lean over and kiss your forehead*

*I lie down next to you and wrap my arms around you. I close my eyes and try to get some sleep myself*
